MWC 2018: Here’s what Samsung, Sony, Nokia and others are planning

One of the biggest tech events of the year, the Mobile World Congress, will start tomorrow in Barcelona, Spain. Every year during the event smartphone and gadget makers launch new phones and announce many new ones. Already a lot of speculations and rumours are floating around the web on new launches and some companies have also revealed names of the devices they are launching during the event.

So here we have compiled all the devices that can be expected during the event.

The biggest and the most anticipated launch at the event is undoubtedly the announcement of S9 and S9+. Not only their specs but also expected prices have filled rumour mills in the past days. You can read about these two phones here.

Meanwhile, from Nokia’s stable four smartphones are expected during the event including Nokia 1, Nokia 7 Plus, Nokia 9, a variant of Nokia 3310 and Nokia 4. Nokia and Samsung are expected to hold press conferences today itself to announce the phones.

Japanese smartphone maker Sony has its own plans. The handset maker is in all likelihood will launch the flagships of this year including Sony Xperia XZ2, XZ2 Pro and XZ2 Compact during the event. And if you are a Xiaomi fan, do not get disheartened. The Chinese handset maker may unveil Mi Mix 2s at the event. The purported images of the phone came in the month of November itself and it is expected to be powered by Snapdragon 845 coupled with 6GB of RAM. For more info, click here.

Among other bigger launches include affordable Go phones, None other than Google confirmed this. As per the Android maker, several Android Go edition phones, costing about Rs 3,200, will be unveiled during the event.

Huawei’s MediaPad M5 8, MediaPad M5 10 and MediaPad M5 10 Pro tablets too are expected.
