MVL Mobiles today launched a new handset, named as R2, for just Rs 1,999. The handset features smart call divert facility which enables the user to talk on one SIM, while the phone calls to the second SIM get automatically diverted to the first one.
R2 has a long battery life, dual SIM capability, expandable memory upto 8 GB, VGA camera, high quality audio and video functions, Hindi keypad, a 1.8 inch colour display, and a powerful torch.
It features the ‘sniffer’ program that allows the user to track the phone in case of theft/ loss and a blacklist option for barring unwarranted calls among others. Also the phone is equipped with ‘smart call back’ option which gives a smart solution by saving Roaming call price. If one SIM is in roaming and other SIM one is on home network, and the user gets a call on roaming SIM, this facility initiates a call back from home network SIM.
Also, the option helps when you have one prepaid and one postpaid SIM, an automatic call back is possible from postpaid SIM if there is no prepaid balance.
The short cut keys for functions like FM radio ensure ease-of-use while the sleek design adds an extra novelty value for the rural user. The lightweight R2 comes in blue and green colours and is sold in a multi-utility metal box which further reiterates its value proposition.
