Motorola Moto E (2nd Gen) announced-Its bigger and better

The cheapest Motorola phone just got better.

Motorola has announced a new version of its Moto E smartphone. The new version, named as Moto E (2nd Gen) has been launched in two variants – model for approximately for Rs 7,400 and for approximately Rs 9,200.

The Moto E 2nd Gen offers a 4.5 inch display with 540 x 960 pixels (qHD) resolution, as compared to the 4.3 inch display of its predecessor. The 3G version runs on the 1.2 GHz Snapdragon 200 quad core while the 4G version has the 1.2 GHz Snapdragon 410 quad core CPU. Also the new model has much better 8 inbuilt storage against 4 GB of the earlier Moto E model. However, the new model has 1 GB RAM and a 32 GB micro SD card slot as the older one.

Like its predecessor, the Motorola Moto E (2nd Gen) has a 5 primary camera with auto-focus, geo-tagging, panorama, and HDR features and it can record videos at 720p at 30 fps. A big addition comes in the form of a front camera; though of resolution, the additional front camera was highly missed in the earlier Moto E version. However, the new Moto E version still do not offer any flash light for the rear camera.

As I said earlier, the new Moto E has been launched in 4G and 3G versions (it is not clear whether it has dual or single SIM). Besides, the phone has WiFi, GPS, Radio, and Bluetooth. In view of the better processor and bigger display, Motorola has armed the new Moto E with a bigger 2390 battery compared to the 1980 mAh unit of the Moto E (1st Gen). Motorola has said that it offers 24 hours of talktime on mixed usage.

The new Moto E has also a water resistant coating. It has GPS with and for navigation. The handset has been launched in the USA yesterday in Golden Yellow, Turquoise, Blue, Raspberry, Purple, Red colours and according to Motorola starting February 25 it will be launched in more than 50 countries in North America, Latin America, Europe and Asia.
