Close to a dozen of mobile phones launched in India this week.

The mobile phone market is the most dynamic market of India with more than a dozen of new devices being launched every month. Infact last month more than two dozen devices (smartphones and tablets combined) were launched in India (read the full story here). The first week of February though wasn’t that eventful but it too saw several new mobile phones which we have listed below.

Lava Iris X1 Grand – Rs 7,100

Though it was announced about a month back, Lava launched it this week only. The Lava Iris X1 Grand features a 5 inch IPS screen which has 854 X 480 pixels resolution. The phone offers a 1.3 GHz MediaTek quad core processor, It is based on KitKat operating system but is upgradable to Android 5.0, Lollipop version; though the company has not announced any specific date for the same.

The Lava Iris X1 Grand features an 8 megapixel auto focus rear camera with BSI sensor and two LED flash lights while a 2 MP camera is in its front for video calling and selfies. On connectivity front the phone supports micro USB v2.0, v4.0 and Wi-Fi (802.11 b/g/n), ensuring full time connectivity for people on the move. The phone has dedicated 1GB RAM & 8GB of inbuilt memory that is expandable up to 32GB. It has a 2200 mAh high capacity battery.

Lava Iris X8 – Rs 8,999

Lava Iris X8, which will be exclusively available via Flipkart from 9th of this month, has a 5 inch HD display, an octa core processor, 2 RAM, 16 GB of inbuilt memory and operates on Android v4.4 KitKat system. Lava has though promised to upgrade it to Android 5.0 Lollipop version.

The Lava Iris X8 has a 2500 mAh battery, 8 megapixel rear camera, Dual LED flash light, 3 megapixel front camera, dual SIM, connectivity, WiFi, Bluetooth v4.0, and has OTG support.

Celkon Q54 Millennia ME – Rs 5,555

The Celkon Q54 Millennia ME has a 5 inch IPS display with a resolution of 480 x 800 pixels. The phone comes with a 1.2 GHz quad-core which runs with 512 of RAM. The of the Celkon Q54 Millennia ME is 4 GB, and it can be expanded by another 32 GB with a microSD card.

The primary camera on this phone is a 5 megapixel unit, with a XMOS sensor, flash, and autofocus. The front too has a 5 megapixel camera, for video calling/selfies. The Celkon Q54 Millennia ME runs on Android KitKat, and has all the usual connectivity features, such as 3G, WiFi, Bluetooth, GPS, etc.. The battery is a 2000 mAh unit.

Lenovo S90 Sisley – Rs 19,990

Technically Lenovo S90 Sisley is yet to be launched in India as Lenovo has not announced the same formally. However, a Mumbai based retailer (who has in the past successfully announced launches of several devices) said that the phone has already in the Indian market.

The Lenovo S90 Sisley has a 5 inch HD Super with a resolution of 720 x 1280 pixels, resulting in a of 294 ppi. The Lenovo S90 Silsley, running on Android KitKat, has a quad-core 1.2 GHz processing unit, which runs with 2 GB of RAM. The internal memory of this phone stands at 32 GB but there is no micro SD card slot in this phone. Its 13 megapixel primary camera is armed with auto-focus, geo-tagging, 1/3.2 sensor, face detection, HDR features and can record videos at 1080p at 30 fps.

The S90 offers an 8 megapixel front camera, for selfies and video calls. The dual-SIM enabled Lenovo S90 Silsley also has all the expected connectivity features, such as WiFi, GPS, Bluetooth, and NFC. The power is supplied by a irremovable 2300 mAh battery.

Micromax Joy

Micromax on Friday announced a new series, Joy, under which it announced two phones to start with – Micromax Joy X1800 and Micromax Joy X1850.

The handsets offer colour screen, camera and other essentials like FM radio, alarm clock, flashlight and more. Micromax Joy X1800 priced at Rs 699 and is equipped with a 4.49 cm coloured screen, durable body and a camera. The device also packs an efficient battery to give consumers up to dby. The X1800 is said to have a tough, dust-proof keypad. It has already been made available

The Micromax Joy X1850 priced at Rs 749 and comes with 4.49 cm coloured screen and a huge 1800 mAh battery, which claims to offer whopping 25 days of back up. Also it has 4GB of expandable memory, Bluetooth and more, the device facilitates best connectivity at this unique price point. Consumers can also tune into their favorite radio stations and enjoy unlimited music on the go. The device will be available in the retail stores in a week’s time.

Intex Aqua Desire – Rs 5,560

The Intex Aqua Desire has a 4.7 inch IPS display with a resolution of 854 x 490 pixels. The Intex Aqua Desire is powered by a dual-core 1.2 GHz processor and 512 MB RAM. The phone has 4 GB of internal memory, which can be further supplemented by another 32 GB. It has an 8 megapixel primary camera with auto-focus, panorama, flash, voice capture, face detection, and video recording features. In the front, the phone features a 2 megapixel camera for selfies and video calls.

The Android KitKat based Intex Aqua Desire is a dual-SIM phone with 3G, Bluetooth, GPS, and WiFi for connectivity. Its 1700 mAh battery can provide up to 6 hours of or 240 hours of standby.

Intex Aqua Power HD – Rs 9,444

The Intex Aqua Power HD has a 5 inch HD IPS display, a quad-core 1.4 GHz CPU, 2 GB RAM, 16 GB in-built storage, and a 32 GB micro SD card slot. The Intex Aqua Power HD has a 13 megapixel auto-focus camera and an LED flash light in the rear while a 5 megapixel camera is in its front. Though the phone currently runs Android KitKat, it is upgradable to Android Lollipop.

The internal memory stands at just 14 MB, just thankfully, there is a slot which allows you to expand the memory up to 32 GB. The primary camera of the Intex Aqua 5X is a 2 megapixel shooter with flash, smile shot, and panorama. In the front, it has a camera.
