Micromax has silently launched yet another octa core smartphone. The handset, named as Micromax Canvas Gold A300, is available for Rs 24,000 from Infibeam and is the second octa core smartphone of Micromax after Canvas A350 Knight which is currently retailing in India for about Rs 22,000. The Canvas Gold is also the costliest handset of Micromax and is the fourth handset of the company to come with the latest Android KitKat operating system till date. Micromax Canvas Engage, Canvas Unite 2, and Micrmax Canvas A105 – all priced below Rs 10,000 – are the other three smartphones of Micromax to have the latest OS.
As per the listing, Micromax Canvas Gold A300 comes with a 5.5 inch capacitive touchscreen with full HD resolution. As the name suggests, it comes in gold colour; it has full-aluminium gold finished body. It is also quite thin with thickness of just 6.9 mm.
It runs on 2 GHz octa core processor and Android 4.4.2 KitKat operating system. The smartphone has healthy 2 GB RAM and 32 GB of inbuilt storage. There is no mention of expandable storage slot which is quite obvious as it has a unibody as the Canvas Knight.
The Micromax Canvas Gold has a 16 Megapixel auto focus rear camera and a 5 megapixel front camera. Notably, it has Sony Image sensor and the rear camera is said to be able to capture full HD videos at 30 frames per second.
Besides, this dual SIM smartphone has Bluetooth 4.0, WiFi, micro USB port, and 3G connectivity. It also comes with FM radio with recording facility. The Canvas Gold has a 2300 mAh Li-Polymer battery that claims to offer 8 hours of talktime, or 4 hours of browsing time, or 210 hours of standby.
