LG today launched the LG Max smartphone in India. A successor to last year’s L Bello smartphone, the LG Max is priced at Rs 10,990. The LG Max was unveiled earlier this month as LG Bello II and we had then reported about its impending launch in India.

The LG Max features a 5-inch display with 854×480 pixels resolution. This 9.6 mm thick smartphone (dimension: 140.8 x 71.6 x 9.6mm) weighs 155 grams. The LG Max comes preinstalled with 5.1.1 operating system and has 1 that along with a 1.3 Ghz quad core promises decent performance.

The LG Max offers a 5 front-facing camera and an 8 megapixel rear camera. It has a 2,540 replaceable battery which is removable. The smartphone has 8 GB of internal storage and has a micro card slot as well. For connectivity, it has 3G, WiFi, 4.0, and 2.0 port. The phone will come in single and dual (it is not clear which one will cost Rs 10,990).

The LG Max comes with LG’s features like Gesture Shot and Selfie Flash (carried over from the G Series) that make it easy to snap great selfies. Gesture Shot enables users to take selfies without pressing any buttons by simply opening and closing the palm in front of the camera. And Selfie Flash turns the phone’s display into a soft flash for portraits that are more subtle and refined.

Amit Gujral, marketing head, LG Mobiles India, said, “Most of the people who use internet on smartphones use services as is still at a nascent stage in our country. Keeping this in mind, LG has launched LG Max as we are sure that this smartphone will offer unprecedented value to 3G consumers. This smartphone offers great balance of form, function and price and we expect it to be even more successful than its predecessor.”

The LG Max will be available in white, titan and gold. No timeline for its retail availability has been announced.
