LG Electronics India has launched LG Spirit LTE and LG G4 Stylus 4G handsets in India. As per a press release issued today by the company, the devices were to be made available by 10th Nov (last week) itself. Though, we could not find these devices either on the LG India’s website, these devices were available on eBay India. The LG Spirit LTE is available from eBay for Rs 13,350 while the LG G4 Stylus LTE has been listed on the website for Rs 21,199.
In the press release, LG though has not revealed their official pricing. Note that the 3G versions of LG Spirit and LG G4 Stylus are also available in India for Rs 22,000 and Rs 13,000 respectively.
As is quite obvious, the LTE versions have the same specification as the older 3G models except ofcourse the added 4G connectivity.
The LG Spirit LTE, like its 3G cousin, has a 4.7 inch HD display, 1.2 GHz Snapdragon 410 quad core processor, 1 GB RAM, 8 GB internal memory, Android 5.0.1 Lollipop operating system, 32 GB expandable memory, 8 megapixel rear camera, 1.3 megapixel front camera and a 2100 mAh battery.
Likewise, the LG G4 Stylus LTE model as its 3G predecessor offers a 5.7 inch display with high definition resolution. It has also the 1.2 GHz quad core Snapdragon 410 processor which is combined with 1 GB RAM, 16 GB of internal memory and the Android Lollipop operating system. Besides, it has a 128 GB micro SD card slot, 3000 mAh battery, 13 megapixel rear camera and a 5 megapixel front camera.
Announcing the launch of the new handsets, LG in its press release said, “These 4G handsets are unique in that they will be VoLTE (Voice Over LTE) and VoWiFi (Voice Over Wi-Fi) enabled allowing faster transmission of data and voice.”
“A VoLTE device has up to three times more voice and data capacity than normal 3G networks and up to six times more than 2G GSM. VoWiFi is an acronym for Voice over Wi-Fi. The defining feature of this service is that it allows interoperability of a handset between Wi-Fi and cellular service. It is expected to be beneficial to the users who have poor cellular coverage in their homes,” LG further explained.
