Karbonn Mobile has launched a new 5 inch smartphone with identical features as Micromax Canvas 2. Called Smart A111, it comes with Android 4.0 operating system and is priced at Rs 10,290.
The Karbonn Smart A111 is powered by 1.2 GHz Qualcomm Scorpion dual core processor, which is slightly better than Canvas 2’s Mediatek 1 GHz dual core unit but has 512 MB RAM as the Micromax handset.
In terms of camera though Smart A111 has only a 5 megapixel unit at the back with Auto Focus, Burst Mode, Face Detection features compared to 8 megapixel unit of Canvas 2. There is a front VGA camera for video chat as well.
The phone has a 2100 mAh battery which is slightly bigger than 2000 mAh unit of Canvas 2. However, all other features of Karbonn Smart A111 are like Canvas II such as 4 GB internal memory, support for 32 GB external storage, Light Sensor, G-Sensor, Proximity Sensor, 3G and WiFi connectivity.
Given that Micromax Canvas 2 A110 is not readily available and is infact selling for around Rs 12,000 wherever it is available, Karbonn Smart A111 is seems to be a very good alternative to the hugely popular Micromax phone.
