Jivi launches India’s cheapest Android smartphone at Rs 1,999

The handset, called Jivi JSP 20, offers a 3.5 inch display, dual SIM WiFi, and a 2 megapixel rear camera.

Jivi has launched a new smartphone, called Jivi JSP 20. The phone is priced at just Rs 1,999, making it the cheapest Android smartphone of India. Jivi is also offering a flip cover worth Rs 499 with the phone, effectively reducing its price even further.

As expected, the device comes with bare minimum features but is definitely better than many features phones and thus ideal for first time (entry level) smartphone buyers. To start with, it comes with a 3.5 inch touchscreen with 320×480 pixels resolution. This 9.4 mm thick handset comes in black and white colours and has a 1 GHz processor.

Besides, the JSP 20 has Android 2.3.5 Gingerbread operating system, 128 MB RAM and 256 MB internal storage. There is an expandable storage slot though which can accommodate a micro SD card of up to 32 GB. It has a 2 megapixel rear camera and a Flash light in the back. It comes with a 1350 mAh battery. It offers 2G connectivity but for faster internet, you can use its WiFi feature. There is Bluetooth in this dual SIM phone as well. It comes with sensor, 3.5 mm jack and a port.
