Jio 5G is rolling out in many cities at a fast pace and manufacturers have been enabling 5G support on their respective smartphones continuously. While Xiaomi has already enabled it on a bunch of its devices, it seems like two of its smartphones won’t be receiving Jio 5G support. Separately, PLAY has launched a new smartwatch in India called PLAYFIT Flaunt, that comes with a 5-day battery life and more.
Jio 5G on Mi 10i, Mi 10
A report from TelecomTalk says that Xiaomi Mi 10i and Mi 10 will not support Jio 5G because both of these devices do not offer support for 5G Standalone or 5G SA. Standalone 5G is the technology on which Jio’s True 5G service works, while Airtel’s 5G Plus service works on Non-Standalone 5G or NSA 5G. 5G SA has zero dependencies on the 4G network and uses a brand-new 5G network core.
This means that while Jio 5G will not work on Mi 10 and Mi 10i, Airtel 5G would work without any issues as its network is based on a different architecture. The Mi 10i debuted in 2021 with a Snapdragon 750G, 6.67-inch Full HD+ LCD display with a screen resolution of 2400 x 1080 pixels, a 4,820mAh battery with 33W Fast charging support and more.

PLAYFIT Flaunt Smartwatch Price, Specs
Available on leading e-commerce platforms like Amazon, Flipkart and also PLAY’s site, PLAYFIT Flaunt comes in two colours of “Champagne-Wine” and “Black-Black”. It is priced at Rs 3999.
