Xioami’s upcoming smartphone, the Mi 5c was spotted in leaked images some time back. The device has been leaking quite frequently now. Now again, a couple of images have been leaked online revealing the front and the back view of the smartphone. The Xiaomi Mi 5c is codenamed ‘Meri’ and is expected to be launched on 12th of December.
The new images have been leaked on Chinese microblogging site, Weibo. The tipster however has not revealed the name of the smartphone but as per reports, it is being assumed as Xiaomi Mi 5C as the images are inline with the previous renders of Mi 5C.
The new leaks show the front and back panel of the device. The front will feature thin bezels on the sides and the back seems to be made of metal. The third image seems to be the listing of the smartphone from a Chinese e-commerce site. The listing mentions the phone name as both the Xiaomi Mi 5c and Xiaomi Meri (probably its codename). The listing shows the phone price as 999 Yuan, which is approximately Rs 9,926.
As per earlier rumours, the Xiaomi Mi 5C is will be powered by Xiaomi’s in-house Pine Cone processor. The processor will be developed by Xiaomi-owned Pine Cone Electronics. The Chipset will compete with the likes of Kirin chip, made by Huawei-owned HiSilicon and even Samsung’s Exynos chipset.
The Xiaomi Meri was earlier spotted on AnTuTu and Geekbench Benchmarking websites. The Geekbench listing revealed that Xiaomi Meri might come with 3GB of RAM and Android 6.0 Marshmallow operating system. The smartphone is powered by an octa-core processor clocked at 1.4GHz with an unknown chipset. The phone scored 758 on the single-core test and 3105 on the multi-core test on Geekbench listing.
The AnTuTu listing revealed the screen size of Xiaomi Meri. As per the Antutu listing, the display on Xiaomi Meri might have 5.5 inches with 1080 x 1920 Pixel resolution. Xiaomi Meri scored 63,581 on AnTuTu, which hints that the device might belong to the mid-range category of phones.
