Huawei P11 to reportedly feature an iPhone X-like notch

The report highlights that the smartphone could feature a 6.01-inch Samsung EA8074 CMD TFT LCD panel with a resolution of 2160 x 1080 pixels.

Huawei is reportedly working on a new flagship device, named as Huawei P11. Now, it seems that the upcoming device will feature a bezel-less design with Apple iPhone X-like notch.

The folks at XDA Developers have come across some firmware files of an upcoming Huawei flagship device that reveals some key specifications as well. One of the configuration files refers the notch as the ‘RoundCornerDisplay’ and there are other configuration files that support the existence of a notch on the upcoming device.

Further, the report highlights that the smartphone could feature a 6.01-inch Samsung EA8074 CMD TFT panel with a of 2160 x 1080, though other files reveal that it will bear a resolution of 2244 x 1080 pixels. The discrepancy could be because of the notch.

Coming to the specifications, the report mentions that the device will be powered by the HiSilicon Kirin 960 processor, which is present in Huawei’s current flagship smartphones including the Huawei M10, Mate 10 Pro and Honor View 10. The phone will run on 8.0 Oreo with a slightly upgraded version of EMUI 8.0.1. Further, the smartphone will support company’s Easy Projection that indicates that it will feature a 3.1 port.

Lastly, the device will be codenamed EMILY and the publication will have four model numbers including EML-AL00, EML-L09, EML-L29, and EML-TL00. The smartphone is expected to be announced during Mobile World Congress 2018.
