Huawei Honor 8 to be launched in India next month

The company will also manufacture the first Make in India' Honor smartphones model starting first week of October 2016.

Honor, which is celebrating its 2nd anniversary in India, has announced that its Honor 8 will be launched in India next month. However, the company neither revealed the exact launch date or its price.

Honor, which is a sub brand of Huawei, also held a special preview event of Honor 8 in Goa. The company will also manufacture the first ‘Make in India’ Honor smartphones model starting first week of October 2016.

Honor has not revealed the specifications of Honor 8 which is to be launched in India but the complete spec sheet of Honor 8 which was launched in China earlier in July this year is available. The Honor 8 Chinese version comes in three variants- one with 3GB RAM and 32GB internal storage is priced at CNY 1,999 (approximately Rs 19,926), another with 4GB RAM and 32GB at CNY 2,299 (approximately Rs 22,916), while the last one has 4GB RAM and 64GB internal storage, and cost CNY 2,499 (approximately Rs 24,910) in China. The smartphone comes in five different colors- Pearl White, Sunrise Gold, Midnight Black, Sakura Pink and Sapphire Blue.

The Honor 8 Chinese version comes with a 5.2-inch full (1920 x 1080 pixels) 2.5D curved glass display. The 2.3GHz octa-core Kirin 950 processor powers this phone which also has Mali T880-MP4 and 3GB/4GB RAM. Besides, 32GB/64GB of internal storage, the Honor 8 comes with an optional storage for up to a 128GB micro SD card. The smartphone runs on 6.0 Marshmallow operating system and has a customised interface – EMUI 4.1. The phone has 3000 mAh battery as well as support.

Notably, the Honor 8 Chinese model has a dual rear camera set up – both the cameras are of 12 resolution. A dual-tone flash light is in the back too. The primary rear camera has f/2.2 and Laser AF. In the front, an 8-megapixel shooter with f/2.4 aperture has been provided for selfies.
