HTC showcases Vive VR headset, One X9 at MWC

The Vive has a hefty price tag of $779 but HTC has not said anything about the price of the One X9.

HTC today showcased its Vive virtual reality headset as well as the One X9 which first announced for China back in December 2015 but is yet to be launched in other markets.

The Vive has a hefty price tag of $779 and will start shipping by early 2016. However HTC has not said anything about the price of the One X9 but reports said that the phone will be made available North Asia, Europe, the Middle East and the rest of Asia in coming months.

The HTC One X9 has been praised for its smooth metal design. It has a 5.5 inch full Super LCD display, 3 GB RAM, Mediatek Helio X10 processor, Marshmallow operating system, and dual nano SIM slot. The phone has 32 GB of internal memory and its expandable storage slot can hold a 2 TB micro SD card.
HTC One X9
The HTC One X9 has a 13 megapixel auto focus rear camera that has BSI sensor, optical image stabilisation feature, and f2.0 aperture. The rear camera can record videos, RAW images, slow motion videos and panorama pictures. It has HDR mode as well. The 5 megapixel front camera of One X9 has BSI sensor, f2.8 aperture, HDR and full HD video recording ability.

Besides, the HTC One X9 is armed with Boomsound and Dolby audio technologies. It has a 3000 battery, micro USB port, 4.2, WiFi (a/b/g/n/ac), NFC, DLNA, Miracast, GPS with AGPS and GLONASS, and connectivity.

The Vive VR headset comes with internal microphone and integrated Bluetooth support and allows users to answer calls, check text messages, and view calendar reminders without removing the headset or stopping play. It is said to support both and Android devices.

For a limited time, the VR headset will come with two free VR games – Job Simulator: The 2050 Archives and Fantastic Contraption.
