HTC One X gets Android 4.0.4 Ice Cream Sandwich update

HTC has started the roll out the new Android 4.0.4 ICS with Sense 4.1 for Europe.

HTC has started rolling out the 4.0.4 Ice Cream Sandwich update for its current flagship device – One X. HTC One X (International) owners in the Europe region are getting the new Android 4.0.4 ICS update with Sense 4.1 update. As of now, there are no confirmed reports about when the update will come to India. You can always go to Settings on One X and scroll down to choose Phone Info and then choose Software Updates to check if there is any update.

The Mobile Indian reported about HTC working on its Sense 4.1 user interface, which aims at enabling certain key features apart from usual performance improvements.

German blog HTCInside.de reported that the new Android 4.0.4 ICS with HTC Sense 4.1 UI update comes with a file size of about 148 MB. This file size may differ from region to region. We recommend downloading the update over WiFi rather than cellular network.

The new HTC Sense 4.1 brings back a Quick Settings shortcut in the notification menu tray. The camera gets improved white balance and continuous options. The built-in will now show a tab icon next to the address bar for better tab management and for switching between tabs.

Facebook users now have the option of a single sign-in and it will be applicable to all apps that support Facebook accounts.

We hope this update is soon pushed to quad core Nvidia Tegra 3 running One X smartphones sold and still available in India.
