HTC has formally announced the launch of two new smartphones in India, namely Desire 616 and One E8. HTC Desire 616 will be available from next week in dark gray and pearl white for Rs 16,900 while the One E8 will be available towards the end of this month for Rs 34,900.
HTC Desire 616
HTC Desire 616 Dual SIM smartphone offers a 5-inch display with 1280×720 pixel resolution. This dual SIM handset is powered by octa-core 1.4 GHz MediaTek MT6592 mobile Chipset and Mali 450-GP4 GPU graphics chip. HTC has added 1 GB RAM and 4 GB on-board storage to ensure smooth basic functioning of the device.
At its back, HTC has placed an 8 megapixel camera and an LED flash. This camera can record full HD (1080p) videos. In the front, the Desire 616 has a 2 megapixel camera for video calls. Other features of this phone include WiFi, Bluetooth 4.0 and GPS with A-GPS support.
Measuring 9.5 mm thick, the Desire 616 can support one 3G HSPA+”>HSPA+ network SIM card. HTC has powered the entire device with mere 2000 mAh battery which may not provide decent talktime.
One E8
It is the latest addition to the HTC One family and it features the same sleek, ergonomic design and striking appearance for which the One series handsets are known for. Constructed of a polycarbonate unibody frame, the E8 comes with a 5 inch display with full HD resolution. It is armed with the powerful 2.5 GHz Snapdragon 801 quad core Processor and is based on Android KitKat version with the HTC Sense UI layered on top of it.
The HTC One E8 has 16 GB ROM, 2 GB RAM, and a huge 128 GB micro SD card slot. The phone has two nano SIM slots and has NFC, Bluetooth 4.0, WiFi (a/b/g/n), DLNA, and a micro USB 2.0 port. The E8 has a 13 megapixel rear camera with BSI sensor, F2.2 Aperture and it is capable of recording full HD videos. In its front there is a 5 megapixel camera. The One E8 has a 2600 mAh battery which should offer long talktime.
