HTC has unveiled the new mid-range Desire 820 smartphone with nine different colour options. The Desire 820 features 5.5-inch HD display and is powered by the new 64-bit Qualcomm Snapdragon 615 mobile chipset. HTC has loaded the HTC Sense 6 on this smartphone with Android 4.4 KitKat running at the heart. The Desire 820 will be offered with glossy surface finish in Marble White, Santorini White, Milky-way Grey, Tangerine White, Saffron Grey, Flamingo Grey and Blue Mist and Monarch Orange. The Desire 820 with matte finish will be available only in Tuxedo Grey color option.
HTC has added a new mid-range smartphone – Desire 820 in the Desire series line up. The new Desire 820 features a slim profile and colorful frame design where in most area will be covered with White or Grey color shades.
The Desire 820 features 5.5-inch LCD display with 1280×720 pixel resolution at 267 pixels per inch. HTC has housed the first 64-bit octa-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 615 mobile chipset packing quad-core 1.5 Ghz Cortex A53 and quad-core 1 Ghz Cortex A53 processors. HTC has paired the mobile chipset with 2 GB RAM and offered 16 GB on-board storage. The memory slot can support up to 128 GB microSD card.
Measuring 7.7 mm thick, the Desire 820 offers 13 megapixel camera with f/2.2 aperture at the back and has LED flash to aid in low light environments. HTC has also added couple of new options such as Live Makeup to adjust skin level smoothing and Photobooth to capture several moments in one image.
There is an 8 megapixel camera in the front for clicking great quality selfies. Other features include Wi-Fi support and dual-SIM configuration with support for two Nano SIM cards.
HTC has also added Bluetooth 4.0 with aptX support with Near Field Communication and GPS with A-GPS and GLONASS support. HTC has also implemented its new HTC BoomSound features to deliver better output with front speakers and built-in amplifiers. HTC Desire 820 offers 2600 mAh battery.
