Huawei’s sub-brand, Honor is reportedly working on the successor of last year’s Honor 7, which is dubbed as Honor 8. As per media reports, the Honor 8 smartphone will be unveiled on July 5 and will be made available for purchase from July 12. As of now the company has not revealed anything about it. However, the official confirmation on the launch event is expected by June 25.
As per rumors, the alleged Honor 8 smartphone is said to feature a 5.2-inch Full HD (1080p) display and will be powered by Kirin 955 chipset, along with decent 4GB of RAM. The smartphone is expected to come with a 3200 mAh battery with Fast charging support and a USB Type-C port. On the camera front, the smartphone is said to flaunt dual 12-megaipixel camera module on the back and an 8-megapixel front-facing camera.
Reports also states that the Honor 8 would have four variants to choose from. The 4GB RAM with 32GB storage standard model will be priced 1999 Yuan, the 4G RAM with 32GB storage (entire network version) will be priced at 2199 yuan, the 4GB with 64GB storage would be priced around 2499 Yuan and the top model with 2K display, 4GB RAM with 128GB storage will cost around 2799 Yuan.
To recall, the Honor 7 has a full metallic body and features a 5.2-inch display with full high definition resolution. It comes pre-installed with Android 5.0 Lollipop operating system. However, it has already got the Android 6.0 Marshmallow update.
The Honor 7 has the Kirin 935 Chipset that has a 64-bit octa core processor with maximum clock speed of 2.2GHz. Plus it has 3GB RAM and comes in 16 GB and 64 GB internal storage variants. Both the variants have an expandable storage slot of 128 GB capacity. It is powered by a 3100 mAh battery, that claims to offer 16 hours of 3G talktime.
The Huawei Honor 7 has 20 megapixel rear camera with f/2.0 Aperture and Sony sensor. As per the company, this camera has 0.1 second auto-focus ability. For selfies, it offers an 8 megapixel front snapper. The phone comes with a nano SIM card slot and has Bluetooth 4.1, WiFi (b/g/n), GPS with A-GPS and GLONASS, OTG Micro USB 2.0 port, intuitive fingerprint scanner and SOS feature. The phone measures 143.2 x 71.9 x 8.5 mm and weighs 157 grams.
