BlackBerry’s first ever Android smartphone, the Priv, is heading to India. The Canadian company will be launching the smartphone in India this January 28 itself.
The company is organising an event to launch the phone in India on the said date in New Delhi and has already sent invitations to media organisations for the same.
The BlackBerry Priv was first made available last October in the USA, the UK, Canada and Germany. In the USA, it is available for $699 or Rs 47,304 approximately and thus we expect it to cost about Rs 50,000 in India as well.
The BlackBerry Priv comes with a 5.4 inch display with Quad HD (2560×1440 pixels) resolution. The AMOLED screen is slightly curved in the edges. The smartphone has a slider QWERTY keypad as well. The BlackBerry Priv comes with Android 5.1.1 Lollipop operating system and is run by the Snapdragon 808 hexa core processor with the help of 3 GB RAM. The smartphone offers 32 GB internal storage and a 200 GB micro SD card slot.
The handset is armed with an 18 Megapixel rear camera that comes with Schneider-Kreuznach optics, optical image stabilization, Autofocus and dual-LED (dual tone) flash light. It has a 2 megapixel front camera.
The smartphone offers single SIM, 4G, WiFi (a/b/g/n), WiFi Direct, WiFi Hotspot, Bluetooth 4.1 A2DP LE, GPS with AGPS and a micro USB 2.0 port. The Priv has a 3140 mAh battery and comes in black colour only.
