Asus launches five Zenfone 2 variants, two ZenPad tablets in India

The Zenfone 2 Deluxe, Selfie and Laser models will be available from August 15 from Flipkart.

As we reported earlier earlier, Asus today announced the Zenfone 2 Deluxe, Zenfone 2 Laser 5.5, Zenfone 2 Laser 5.0, Laser 6.0 and Zenfone Selfie smartphones for the Indian market. It has also launched the ZenPad C7.0 and ZenPad 8.0 tablets in India.

The Zenfone 2 Laser 5.0, Zenfone 2 Laser 5.5, and Laser 6.0 are priced at Rs 9,999, Rs 13,999 and Rs 17,999 respectively. The Zenfone 2 Deluxe, Selfie and Laser models will be available from August 15 from Flipkart. The Zenfone 2 Deluxe comes at a starting price of Rs 22,999 while the Zenfone Selfie’s price starts from Rs 15,999.

The ZenPad C7.0 will be available for Rs 11,999 and with an audio cover it will come with Rs 14,999. The ZenPad 8.0 will be available for Rs 14,999 and with the special audio cover it will cost Rs 17,999.

The company has also announced the worldwide debut of ZenFone Max that comes with a huge 5000 mAh battery.

Asus Zenfone 2 Laser

It comes in three variants – 5 inch, 5.5 inch and 6 inch screen variants. All the models have IPS panel with anti-scratch Gorilla Glass 4 coating, Oleophobic anti-fingerprint coating and high definition resolution. It is powered by the 64 bit Snapdragon 410 quad core processor, Adreno 306 GPU, 16 GB internal memory, 2 GB LPDDR3 RAM, and has a 128 GB supporting micro SD card slot.

The Asus Zenfone 2 Laser has a 5 megapixel front camera with f/2.0 that comes with HDR mode, low light mode, GIF animation, and and offers real time beautification and several photo effects. Its 13 megapixel rear auto focus camera has laser auto focus that claims to click images in 0.3 seconds. It has f/2.0 aperture, Blue glass filter HDR mode, and offers manual mode like DSLRs and has 52 megapixel super mode.

Besides, it offers dual SIM with 4G, GPS with and GLONASS, WiFi, WiFi Direct, micro USB port with OTG, and Lollipop operating system with a new Asus ZenUI interface.

Zenfone 2 Laser 5.0 ZE500KL has a smaller 2070 mAh battery while the Laser 5.5 has a 3000 mAh battery.

Asus Zenfone 2 Deluxe ZE551ML

It is powered by a 2.3GHz 64-bit Intel Atom Z3580 and has 4GB RAM. It too has a 13 megapixel PixelMaster auto focus rear camera with f/2.0 aperture, blue glass IR filter, and a ‘real tone’ flash. For the rear camera there is a manual mode as in DSLRs and it can capture images in 52 megapixel resolution too. Iin its front there is a 5MP camera with 85-degree field of view for taking selfies and it has f/2.0 aperture, 5 element lens and it can capture 140 degree wide angle pictures.

The Asus Zenfone 2 Deluxe runs on Android 5.0 Lollipop and has a new version of Asus ZenUI as well as it has a 3000mAh battery. Besides, the phone offers 4G, WiFi, dual-SIM, and will come in 64GB and 128GB storage variants.

Asus Zenfone Selfie

As the name suggests, the Asus Zenfone 2 Selfie is a camera centric smartphone. It has a 13 megapixel auto focus camera both in its front and rear panel along with flash light. Moreover, it has Laser Ultra Fast Auto Focus system that claims to have a capture speed of just 0.3 seconds. The front camera has an f/2.2-aperture and 88-degree lens. On top of that it has panorama mode for the front camera as well so that you can capture a 140 degree selfie. The rear camera has an f/2.0 aperture. Both cameras have five-prism Largan lenses and Toshiba sensors.

However, the Asus Zenfone 2 Selfie comes in 2 GB and 3 GB options and will be offered in 16 GB and 32 GB storage variants – both of which will have a 128 GB micro SD card slot. The phone has a 5.5 inch full display with 4, 3000 mAh Li-Po battery, 4G, WiFi, Bluetooth, dual SIM, Android Lollipop operating system and the octa core Snapdragon 615 processor.

This tablet is based on the latest Android Lollipop operating system, 7 inch IPS touchscreen with 1024×600 pixels resolution and anti finger coating, 1.3 GHz quad core processor, 1 GB RAM, 8 GB internal storage, 4.0 with A2DP, WiFi, WiFi Direct, 64 GB micro SD card slot, 5 megapixel rear camera, 0.3 megapixel front camera, 3450 mAh battery, GPS with GLONASS, and dual SIM with dual standby and connectivity.

Asus ZenPad 8.0

This tablet offers an 8 inch IPS display with 1280×800 pixels resolution and Corning Gorilla Glass, 64 bit octa core processor. 64 GB micro SD card slot, 2 front camera, 8 MP rear camera (another version comes with 5 MP camera) , 15.2 Wh battery, WiFi, Bluetooth, and Android Lollipop operating system. The tablet has two variants – one with 8 GB with 1 GB RAM and the other with 16 GB internal memory and 2 GB RAM. There is no information as of now as which version has been launched in India.
