Samsung has rolled out the latest Android Nougat 7.0 update for its Samsung Galaxy S6 edge+ smartphone in India. Samsung launched the Galaxy S6 Edge+ smartphone in India back in the year 2015. The smartphone initially came with Android Lollipop and currently runs on Android 6.0 Marshmallow operating system. The Nougat update comes with the newer version G928GDDU3CQC7. The smartphone was also recently spotted with Android Nougat operating system as the device got Wifi certification.
The update is more than 1GB in size and since the update is being rolled out over-the-air, it may take some time before it comes to your device. One can also manually check for the update by going to Settings ->About Phone -> Software Update. For the update, your phone should be at least 50% charged and connected to a Wi-Fi network.
Android Nougat brings in a bunch of new features other features including split-screen multitasking, more customisable quick settings, improved Google keyboard, enhanced notifications and recent applications window. Further, the latest Android OS version also brings in ‘Double Tap’ on the Recent button to switch between the two most recent apps which comes in very handy at times. For extended battery life, Android Nougat comes with ‘Doze on the go’ which will get activated even if your Nougat running device is in your pocket.
As far as specs are concerned, the Samsung Galaxy S6 Edge+ has a large 5.7-inch Super-AMOLED display with Quad HD resolution, 4 GB RAM, Android 7.0 Marshmallow operating system and is powered by Samsung’s 64-bit octa-core Exynos 7420 Chipset that has four Cortex-A57 cores clocked at 2.1GHz, and four Cortex-A53 cores clocked at 1.5GHz.
The smartphone offer snazzy metal-and-glass construction and has a 16 megapixel rear camera with optical image stabilisation feature and F1.9 aperture. It comes with a 3000 mAh battery and a 5 megapixel front camera with F1.9 aperture. Fast charging and wireless charging facilities are also available in the smartphone. For connectivity, the Samsung Galaxy S6 Edge+ has 4G, NFC, WiFi (a/b/g/n/ac), Bluetooth 4.2 LE, micro USB 2.0 port, and GPS with GLONASS and Beidou. It has a fingerprint sensor too.
Samsung Galaxy S6 Edge+ comes in 32 GB and 64 GB variants but neither of them offers expandable storage. The Samsung Galaxy S6 Edge+ has dual EDGE display similar to Galaxy S6 Edge. This handset measures 154.4 x 75.8 x 6.9 mm and weighs 153 grams.
