4G enabled Gionee Elife E7 coming to India in Jan

It has a customised Android operating system which is called Amigo 2.0 and an unbelievable 8 megapixel front camera.

Gionee, a China based handset maker, has announced a new phone called Elife E7. It is a enabled handset and comes with a customised version and a huge 8 front camera. Also, as per Gionee, the E7 has “best-in-class lens and a breakthrough image sensor.”

The smartphone comes with a 5.5 inch display with full resoloution (1920 x 1080 pixels) which translates to 401 PPI pixel density. The display is also protected by 3rd Generation Gorilla Glass which claims to be 20 times more scratch resistance than regular classes and twice as durable as the second generation of Gorilla Glass.

Gionee said in a statement , the Elife E7’s touch screen is responsive to gloves, wet hands, and keys to ensure photographers can take pictures in any weather and any situation.

Besides, the Gionee Elife E7 has Qualcomm S800 2.2 GHz quad core and a non-removable 2500 battery. It will come in two versions – one with 16 internal storage and 2 GB RAM and the other with 32 GB storage and 3 GB RAM. The single SIM based handset has also 3.5 mm jack, WiFi, GPS, 4.0, FM, and G-sensor.

The E7 has a dimension of 150.6×75.0x9.7mm (height, width, thickness). It has a 16 megapixel rear camera and an 8 megapixel front camera.

“Brands at times choose to increase the and sacrifice the pixel size or vice versa. However, we have come up with a way to create the perfect combination and balance of image resolution and picture quality,” said William Lu, president of Gionee.

“A joint development with OminVison has enabled the Elife E7 to sport a 16 megapixel sensor with 1.34 µm pixels which enables users the ability to shoot razor sharp images without compromising the photo’s resolution or image quality.” William Lu further claimed.

A crucial aspect of the phone is that it has a tailored Android OS called Amigo 2.0. The new Amigo enables users to use from five convenient ways to take photos which include voice control, normal, touch, smile and v-gesture.

“Its new and improved imaging applications enables users to edit photos, alter colors and more directly on the phone and create professional looking photos in just seconds,” Gionee claimed.

“In addition, Elife E7 sports a revolutionary Photo Album that automatically categorizes photos by time, place, and facial characterizes, and events; thus, enabling users to find a specific photo in seconds,” the company further said.

Amigo 2.0 also introduces the sensor hub technology. “In a traditional smartphone, wake up voice assistant requires bigger power consumption. With Gionee, we believe that a sensor hub technology should be used anytime, anywhere, hands free, voice controlled,” the company further added.

As per Gionee, the Elife E7 has several new camera effects including new auto makeup effects, 12 levels auto beauty, SR Auto -Intelligent Scene Recognition Function that eliminate the hassle of changing the settings every time, seven modes: automatic, portrait, Micro, night, night portrait, backlight, backlight portrait, and something called Footprint mode that allows users to press once and see a series of connected actions in one shot.

Most importantly, the Elife E7 comes in both and 4G versions. Elife E7 3G has a quad-core processor and it’s the world’s first smartphone to be equipped with the Qualcomm 8974 chipset. E7 3G comes in 2 versions will support WCDMA and TD-WCDMA.

Elife E7 4G will adopt Qualcomm 8974AC version 2.5 GHz quad-core processor and supports 5 major modes and 15 bands. Whether it will support the Indian TD-LTE network or not is not clear as of now. Elife E7 sports three mic noise cancellations for reduced noise and clearer conversation in every situation.

The Gionee Elife E7 is available in black, white, blue, pink, green, yellow, and orange. It will be available in China December 05th 2013 and is expected to be available oversaeas including India in early 2014, probably in January itself. There is no information as of now about its price in India.
