In 2019, every launch by vivo has seen the brand adding a couple of new innovative features in its devices. With the Z1Pro, it has managed to pull it off yet again. If you have a limited budget for your upcoming smartphone purchase but don’t want to compromise on quality or features, then read on, we might just help you make a smart choice.
Look and Feel
One of the most ignored elements in the sub-Rs 20,000 smartphone segment is design. In vivo Z1Pro, thankfully it is one of the highlights and it is one of the best-designed smartphones with an eye-catching glossy rear panel sporting a multi-coloured gradient finish. Our favourite colour variant is the Sonic Blue variant, which is emerald green at the top fading into cobalt blue at the bottom.
The vivo Z1Pro features a 6.53 inch FHD+?2340X1080) Ultra Fullview™ display in which we have an In-Display front camera, providing you with an immersive display experience. The display of the device is very sharp and legible in all conditions. Viewing angles are great and the colours are vivid. One can adjust the colour temperature and there’s a system-wide dark mode as well.
The screen is protected with the Schott Xensation 3D, providing an 8.15% increase in scratch resistance than the competition. Even the status bar at the top of the screen is thick enough to enclose the In-Display Selfie Camera, thus almost hiding the In-Display Camera.
User Interface and Gaming
vivo Z1Pro runs the Funtouch OS 9.0, a customised UI for Android 9.0. One of the highlights of Funtouch OS in Z1Pro is a game enhancement that the company has named Game Cube. This includes specific optimisations for PUBG Mobile including “4D vibrations and 3D surround sound” which allow a fully immersive game experience. It also has a countdown feature that lets you do other things while you wait for your next round to begin and will always remind you the exact show time so that you will never miss the chance to become the leader of your game. It is also equipped with a low blue eye protection function to effectively filter blue light.
There’s also an E-sports mode that can kill all background apps, block notifications, and disable temperature throttling to maximise performance. vivo is planning to add even more features in it, including voice chat filters in future updates.
If you are worried that the In-Display Selfie Camera might interfere with the gaming experience, rest assured it will not. The In-Display Selfie Camera does not interfere with full-screen gaming, as it is always covered by thumb during gameplay. Not only PUBG Mobile but Asphalt 9: Legends run smoothly at high settings on the vivo Z1Pro, and overall gaming experience is top-notch.And that is not all. The device has an Ultra Game Mode which is designed for the ultimate gaming experience. One can Play E-sports like a pro by using Competition Mode, which allocates system resources that prioritize your game performance.
The major highlight of vivo Z1Pro is that it’s the first smartphone phone in India which comes loaded with Qualcomm Snapdragon 712 processor with AI engine. The chipset is complemented by UFS 2.1 storage and RAM LPDDR4x. It has six 1.7GHz Kryo 360 Silver cores for efficiency and two 2.3GHz Kryo 360 Gold cores for power. Adreno 616 graphics is integrated into the chipset along with X15 LTE modem.
vivo Z1Pro comes in three variants 4GB of RAM with 64GB of storage for Rs14,990, 6GB of RAM with 64GB of storage for Rs 16,990 and 6GB of RAM with 128GB of storage for Rs 17,990.
And it gets better. The vivo Z1Pro packs a 5000mAh battery and support for vivo’s own Dual Engine Fast Charging technology. To make the deal sweeter, an 18W charger is included in the box to speed up the charging.
One full charge Z1Pro lasted us around two days which involved quite a bit of 4G data use, streaming some video, taking lots of photos, and playing games for about an hour.
‘You name a feature, and it is present in the vivo Z1Pro. The device has a budget price tag, but some of the features like gaming Cube and In-Display Selfie Camera are not even available in other high-end smartphones. Thus making it a real value buy that few handsets can compete with at these price points, making it the best phone in under 20000.
