Xiaomi launched its Desh ka smartphone – Redmi 5A in India last year in Gold, Rose Gold and Dark Grey colours. But, the company made available only the Gold and Dark Grey colours for sale. Now Xiaomi has started teasing the launch of the Rose Gold variant of its Redmi 5A smartphone.
The company’s Redmi Twitter page has posted the teaser on its official Twitter handle which hints that it will likely be the Rose Gold version of the Redmi 5A smartphone. The tweet reads “I’m beautiful. I’m powerful. I’m everyone’s choice. Guess who am I? Watch this space tomorrow.”

The new color variant is already listed on Flipkart with the coming soon tag. It is worth mentioning that the next sale of the Redmi 5A is tomorrow, so we can expect the Rose Gold variant to go on sale either tomorrow itself or from February 8 via both Flipkart and Mi.com.
The smartphone comes in two variants – 2GB RAM with 16GB internal storage priced at Rs 5,999 and 3GB RAM with 32GB internal storage priced at Rs 6,999. Xiaomi is offering a discount to first 5 million customers of Rs 1,000, which brings down the cost of 2GB RAM variant to Rs 4,999.
The Xiaomi Redmi 5A features 5-inch HD display with 720 x 1280 pixels resolution and a pixel density of 296ppi and is powered by a 1.4GHz Snapdragon 425 quad-core processor with Adreno 308 GPU. It comes with 2GB/3GB of RAM and 16GB/32GB of internal storage, and expandable storage up to 128GB via microSD. The Redmi 5A gets its strength from decent 3,000 mAh battery offering 8 days of standby time and runs on Android Nougat operating system wrapped under MIUI 9.
On the camera front, the Redmi 5A sports a 13-megapixel rear camera with PDAF, LED Flash, f/2.2 aperture, burst mode, panorama mode, HDR mode, and more. on its back, and a 5-megapixel front-facing camera for selfies with f/2.0 Aperture lens. Besides the smartphone offers dual SIM, 4G with VoLTE, Wi-Fi (802.11 b/g/n), Bluetooth 4.1, GPS, and a Micro USB port. The handset measures 140 x 70.1 mm x 8.35 mm and weighs 137g.
