Xiaomi has started rolling out the latest MIUI 9.2 ROM for its budget-centric smartphones, the Redmi 3S and Redmi 3S Prime. The news was confirmed on company’s official forums.
The new update is about 376MB in size and it carries MIUI 9.2.2.0.MALMIEK. The update also brings April 2017 security patch to both the smartphones. However, it is important to note that this is a Nightly Build, meaning that it will be rolled out to random users. The company rolls out Nightly build to random users to get the feedback and if everything is right, it then rolls out the Stable ROM to all its users.
Coming to the update, brings a host of improvements and bug fixes. The update brings improved layout and readability. Other improvements include new Gallery app, fresh UI changes, Mi Video App, search for apps in the settings of the dual app, Mi Drop app, Mi Mover app, new App vault features, improved notification bar and more.
The update is in line with Xiaomi’s announcement of rolling out MIUI 9 update to 40 smartphones. Xiaomi announced the MiUi 9 update in July last year. Later on, the company began the rollout of the MIUI 9 Global ROM in early November alongside the launch of Redmi Y1 and Y1 Lite smartphones in India. Xiaomi has already rolled out MIUI 9 update for smartphones like Redmi Note 4, Mi Max 2, Redmi 4A, Redmi 4.
