Xiaomi seems to be prepping to announce the Mi 8 Youth and Mi 8 Screen Fingerprint edition smartphones in the Mi 8 series soon. In the series,Xiaomi Mi 8, Mi 8 Explorer Edition and Mi 8 SE smartphones were launched in China earlier this year.
As per a report of MySmartPrice, the company will be launching two smartphones in China – Mi 8 Youth and Mi 8 Screen Fingerprint Edition. The Mi 8 Youth will come in three colour variants – Space Gray, Gold, and Blue. It will come in three variants – 4GB RAM with 64GB internal storage, 6GB RAM with 64GB internal storage and 8GB RAM with 128GB internal storage.
The Mi 8 Screen Fingerprint Edition, on the other hand, will come in two colours – Black and Gold. For the storage, it will have two variants of 6GB+128GB and 8GB +128GB storage.
The Mi 8 Youth and Mi 8 Screen Fingerprint edition seems to be quite similar to the Xiaomi Mi 8 SE and Xiaomi Mi 8 Explorer Edition. The first might have a Snapdragon 710 Chipset while the Mi 8 Screen Fingerprint Edition will feature an in-display fingerprint sensor like the Mi 8 Explorer Edition. The rest of the specifications are likely to be same as of the Mi 8.
As per a recent report, Xiaomi Mi 8 will be launching in India in September. Mi 8was the first Xiaomi phone to include a notch in the display. Xiaomi Mi 8 features 6.21-inch full-HD+ (1080×2248 pixels) AMOLED Display with 88.5 percent screen-to-body ratio. The smartphone is powered by Qualcomm Snapdragon 845 Processor coupled with 6GB and 128GB internal storage.
The Mi 8 is equipped with a dual camera at the back with two 12-megapixel Sensors with 1.4-micron pixels, four-axis OIS, and dual pixel autofocus. It has a 20-megapixel front camera with a f/2.0 aperture. The Dual-SIM phone runs Android Oreo-based MIUI 10 and has a 3,400mAh battery that supports Quick Charge 4.0+.
The connectivity features are 4G VoLTE, Wi-Fi 802.11 a/b/g/n/ac, Bluetooth v5.0, GPS/ A-GPS, and USB Type-C. The handset measures 154.9×74.8×7.6mm. Sensors on board include accelerometer, gyroscope, ambient light sensor, barometer, digital compass, infrared, and a proximity sensor. It has a fingerprint sensor at the back.
