LG Electronics has unveiled a new Google Android based smartphone – Optimus GJ with IPX7 certification. This new Optimus GJ smartphone is waterproof and will be introduced in Korea region initially. The Optimus GJ smartphone carries the same specifications as that of the Optimus G.
Apart from that, there is nothing new or noteworthy in this smartphone. Taiwanese website EPrice managed to get the specifications and the images of the device from the launch.
LG has joined the league of offering waterproof smartphones. So far Sony Mobile and Motorola have been actively selling the waterproof devices. Ever since Samsung promised to deliver a rugged and waterproof Galaxy S4, LG decided to try something similar.
Thus came the LG Optimus GJ smartphone with 4.7-inch True IPS Plus display with 720p HD resolution natively. This smartphone is powered by quad-core 1.5 Ghz Qualcomm Snapdragon S4 Pro APQ8064 mobile processor and will pack 2 GB RAM along with 16 GB on-board storage. Of course one can add micro SD card of up to 64 GB.
LG Optimus GJ has been awarded with IPX5 and IPX7 certifications to make it dust-proof and water-proof with certain limitations. This smartphone will pack 2280 mAh battery and will be made available from next month onwards starting from Korea.
