Samsung Galaxy Note 8 tipped to available in India on September 25, pricing also leaked

The phone sports a dual rear camera setup of 12-megapixel wide-angle lens and 12-megapixel telephoto lens, with both sporting optical image stabilization (OIS).

Samsung launched Galaxy Note 8 at an event in New York just last week with a price tag of $930 (approx. Rs 59,561) in the US and £869 (approx. Rs 72,000) in the UK. Now the smartphone is reportedly set to enter Indian market on September 25.

As per a report of Phonehorn, pre-order of Samsung Galaxy Note 8 will be available from retail as well as online portals from September 25. Further, the report says that the Samsung Galaxy Note 8 will be priced Rs 69,900 in India. It will be available in Black and Gold colour variants, and if you pre-order you’ll get a free wireless charger. However, Samsung has not announced any official date on the Galaxy Note 8 availability in India.

Interestingly, Samsung India site has created a dedicated page for the pre-registrations of the smartphone, though the company is yet to announce the pricing and launch of the Galaxy Note 8. The page contains some generic information, which one need to fill like his/her name, email address, mobile number and code. After that one needs to answer a question, which has a set of answers to choose from. Users can select multiple options as well. In order to finish the registration process, one needs to accept company’s privacy policy and enter the Captcha code.

The major highlight of the smartphone is the dual rear cameras. This is the first Samsung device to come equipped with a dual-camera setup. The phone sports a combination of 12-megapixel lens and 12-megapixel telephoto lens, with both sporting optical image stabilization (OIS). The wide-angle lens comes with f/1.7, 1.4-micron size, 77-degree field of view. The telephoto lens comes loaded with aperture f/2.4, 2x optical zoom, up to 10x digital zoom. The camera is equipped with different modes including Live focus, food mode, pro mode, panorama and slow motion. For the front, there is an 8-megapixel shooter with autofocus, f/1.7 aperture and wide-angle lens.

The Galaxy Note 8 features a new S-Pen, which comes with some interesting features like Samsung notes, live message, smart select, Bixby vision, screen off memo + pin to AOD. The S-Pen tip is just 0.7mm and it has 4096 pressure levels. The pen also comes with protection.

The Galaxy Note 8 features a 6.3-inch Quad Infinity display with a screen resolution of 2960 x 1440 pixels, 522ppi and 18:5:9 aspect ratio. The phone comes with IP68 certification, which makes it dust and water resistant. The device is powered by an octa-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 835 processor, which is only meant for the US. There is also a variant that comes loaded with company’s in-house Exynos 8895 chipset. The phone is backed by a 6GB of and comes in three storage variants: 64GB, 128GB, and 256GB. The storage can be further expanded up to 256GB via micro card.

The device runs on latest 7.1.1 Nougat and is juiced up by a 3300mAh battery with fast charging support on both wired and wireless. On the connectivity front, the device supports VoLTE, WiFi 802.11ac, VHT80 MU-MIMO, 5.0, GPS, Type-C, NFC, MST and hybrid dual-SIM. For security, the company has added iris scanner, facial recognition and fingerprint sensor, which is situated on the back panel. The device also comes loaded with Knox protection and it is equipped with company’s in-house virtual Assistant Bixby. The device measures 162.5 x 74.8 x 8.6mm and weighs 195g.
