Samsung Galaxy Note 2 prebooking opens in India

Samsung's next generation Galaxy Note with a bigger 5.5 inch display and a much faster processor.

Pre booking of the Samsung Galaxy Note 2 tablet has now started in India. Infibeam, a popular online seller in India, is now taking up pre orders for this new Galaxy Note device. The price of the 16 GB variant of the tablet, the only variant of Note 2 expected in India, has been listed on the portal at Rs 38,500.

The Note 2 takes the capabilities of the original Galaxy Note to a whole new level with an even bigger display and a faster processor, along with a load of features and technologies that it shares with the Samsung Galaxy SIII smartphone.

The new Samsung Galaxy Note 2 features a 5.5-inch HD Super that supports 1280×720 pixel resolution. Compared to that, Galaxy Note had a 5.3-inch HD Super Amoled touchscreen display with native 1280×800 pixel resolution and has a 267 ppi (Pixels Per Inch, density) with slimmer second generation Corning Gorilla Glass strength.

Under the 9.4 mm thick chassis, the Galaxy Note II houses a quad-core 1.6 GHz Samsung Exynos 4 Quad mobile processor with 2 GB RAM, Mali-400MP graphics chip and the 4.1 Jelly Bean to jazz up the things a bit more.

Samsung has also implemented a new feature called Popup Note that lets the user open the S Note instantly as a pop-up window anywhere on the screen. There also a Quick Command feature to access frequently used apps with S Pen by keeping the button pressed.

The Galaxy Note II has an 8 camera at the back with auto-focus and LED Flash. This camera is easily capable of recording full 1080p HD videos at 30 frames per second. There is a 1.9 megapixel camera in the front as well for video calling.

Samsung is offering the Galaxy Note 2 in 16 GB storage version but it has a micro card slot that is capable of holding up to 32 GB of additional storage. However, internationally the Note 2 comes in 32 GB and 64 GB editions as well. The Galaxy Note II will come with a massive 3100 battery that can be expected to make the device run for two days straight but the usage will be purely dependent on user’s preferences.
