Redmi 8 to come with Type C port and fast charging support

Redmi 8 will be featuring dual rear camera, big battery and Aura mirror design.

Redmi 8 is all set to be launched on October 9 in India. Now ahead of the launch, the Redmi 8 has been confirmed to come with Type C port and support.

The new features have been confirmed by Xiaomi India Managing Director and Global VP Manu Jain. In a Twitter post, he said “Great Camera. Fast Charge. Higher Capacity. Did I miss to type-C? #Redmi8 is arriving on 9th October. #BatteryCameraAction RT if you’re excited. “

Redmi 8 will be available for sale on Flipkart after its launch in India as the smartphone has received a microsite on Flipkart. Alongside the microsite featured on Flipkart, Xiaomi has created the dedicated event page on its Mi.com website. The event page includes all the details that are showcased on the Flipkart listing. Additionally, it has a “Notify Me” option for the alerts for the upcoming launch.

Redmi 8 will be featuring dual rear camera, big battery and Aura mirror design. The phone will also be Splash resistant. Redmi 8 will debut in India with a primary Sony sensor. The company has been teasing its upcoming launch on its official Twitter handle for the past few days with #BatteryCameraAction hashtag.

As per earlier leaks, Redmi 8 will have a dual rear camera setup with 12-megapixel as the primary sensor and a 5-megapixel secondary sensor with Flash. On the front, it will have an 8-megapixel selfie camera. The phone will come in four different colours – Ash, Blue, Green, and Red. It will have a rear-mounted fingerprint scanner.

Redmi 8 will feature will have 6.26-inch 2.5D curved glass dot-notch display with a resolution of 1520 × 720 pixels. The phone will be powered by 2GHz Octa-Core Snapdragon 439 chipset. It will have connectivity options like Dual SIM, VoLTE, WiFi 802.11 b/g/n, 5.0, GPS with A-GPS, and a Type C port. The phone will measure 156.3×75.4×9.4mm and weighs 190 grams.

Redmi 8 will run 9 Pie with MIUI 10.0.1.3 on top. It will have three storage variants – 2GB RAM with 16GB storage, 3GB RAM with 32GB storage and 4GB RAM with 64GB storage. The phone will also come with an option to expand the storage of up to 512GB with a card. It will be backed up by a 5000mAh battery with 18W charging support.
