Several weeks after getting OxygenOS 9.0 update with Google Duo integration, OnePlus has started rolling out OxygenOS Open beta to OnePlus 6, OnePlus 6T, OnePlus 5 and OnePlus 5T. The new beta update brings a new UI with warnings for overheating, optimised search experience and intelligent cleanup inside the file manager.
The latest OxygenOS beta update on the OnePlus 6 and OnePlus 6T brings a new UI inside system updates with a new warning for when the user’s device heats up. The software has been updated with Quick Reply in landscape inside more instant messaging apps and the same is enabled in such a way that the app on the foreground isn’t paused.
Inside the community app, OnePlus has improved the search experience by adding a search field and grouping search results in different categories. The app also offers an enhanced UI and log recording. For users in India only, OnePlus has added a new feature to the File manager on OnePlus 6 and OnePlus 6T with the introduction of an intelligent cleanup option.
Users of the OnePlus 5 and OnePlus 5T will get the same set of additions through the beta update as the ones on the OnePlus 6 and 6T, minus the intelligent cleanup feature inside the File manager.
It’s worth noting that the latest software to the four OnePlus devices comes as a beta build, meaning it might feature several bugs and issues. You might want to stay clear of the update in case you have no experience in flashing beta software, which in the worst case might render your device useless.
