HMD Global has now released a stable Pie update for Nokia 3. To recall, theNokia 3 was launchedback in the year 2017 with Android Nougat operating system.
The devicestarted receiving the Android 8.1 Oreo update in December last year with the December Android security patch. Now the device is being updated with the Android Pie.
The announcement was made by HMD Global Chief Product Officer Juho Sarvikas on Twitter. The tweet reads “The wait is over! Keeping up with our promise of 2 years of Android updates, Nokia 3 (2017) is now officially running on Android 9 Pie! Step up to Nokia smartphones, they Just Keep Getting Better!#GetSmart#Nokiamobile”.

The new update for Nokia 3 is rolled out over-the-air and it brings the latest May 2019 security patch to the phone apart from regular goodies of Android Pie features. The Android Pie update will bring features like adaptive battery, adaptive brightness, navigation gestures, simplified volume controls, revamped split screen, improved DND mode and more. One can check for the update manually by going to Settings > Software updates.
The Nokia 3 smartphone comes with 5-inch HD 2.5 D curved displays with Corning Gorilla Glass protection. There is a 1.3 GHz Quad-Core MediaTek MTK 6737 Chipset with 2GB of RAM and 16GB of internal storage which is expandable up to 128GB via microSD card. Nokia 3 runs on Android 9.0 Pie and packs in a 2650 mAh battery inside.
For the optics, we get a combination of 8-megapixel cameras on both front and back with f/2.0 aperture, 1.12-micron Pixel size along with LED flash at the back and display flash at the front. For connectivity, we have Micro USB (USB 2.0), USB OTG, Bluetooth, Wi-Fi, GPS and NFC for sharing. Apart from this, we get Accelerometer (G-sensor), ambient light sensor, e-compass, fingerprint sensor, gyroscope, and a proximity sensor.
