New variant of Samsung Galaxy J2 now spotted on GeekBench

The handset is based on the Android 7.1.1 Nougat operating system.

A new variant of the recently-launched Galaxy J2 (2017) which was spotted on GFXBench recently has now been spotted on GeekBench website. The listing has spilt some beans on the expected specifications of the upcoming smartphone. The smartphone comes with model number SM-J250G in both the listings.

The specifications the GeekBench listing are inline with the specifications leaked via GFX listing except for the processor. While Geekbench reveals that it is powered by Snapdragon 430, GFXBench suggests it could be Snapdragon 425 chipset. The original Galaxy J2 (2017) comes with a 1.3 GHz quad-core Exynos processor.

In the GeekBench listing, the Samsung Galaxy J2 got 662 points in single-core test and in multi-core test it received 1756 points. As per the listing on Geekbench, the Samsung Galaxy J2 has 1.5GB and msm8937 quad-core clocked at 1.40 GHz. The handset is based on the 7.1.1 Nougat operating system.

The earlier GFXBench listing revealed that the smartphone will sport a 5-inch display with a screen of 960 x 540 pixels. The phone will be backed by a 1.5GB of RAM and 16GB of internal storage. On the camera front, the device could sport an 8-megapixel rear camera with autofocus, face detection and flash. For the front, there would be a 5-megapixel shooter for selfies and video calling. The listing further reveals that the smartphone runs on Android 7.1.1 Nougat and will support connectivity options like GPS, Bluetooth, proximity sensor, and altimeter.

There is no information about the pricing and availability of the device as yet, however, given the fact that it has been spotted GeekBench, it will not be much long before we see some new leaks revealing the pricing as well. So we request you to stay updated on our website for the same.

To recall, Samsung recently launched a new budget smartphone under Galaxy series named as Samsung Galaxy J2 (2017). The smartphone will come with a price tag of Rs 7,390, according to a Mumbai-based offline retailer Mahesh Telecom.

The Samsung Galaxy J2 (2017) features a 4.7-inch display with qHD (540 x 960 pixels) display. It is powered by a 1.3 GHz quad-core Exynos processor. The phone has a 1GB RAM, an 8GB which is further expandable up to 128GB via microSD card. The smartphone runs on an Android operating system (version not revealed) and is backed by a 2,000 battery.

The smartphone has a 5-megapixel shooter on the back with LED flash and a 2-megapixel selfie camera. On the connectivity front, the device offers Dual SIM, LTE, WiFi, Bluetooth 4.1, GPS, 3.5 mm and a micro USB. The handset measures 136.5 x 69.0 x 8.4 mm and weighs 130 grams.
