Micromax has recently announced its latest flagship smartphone, called as the Micromax Canvas Turbo, for Rs 19,999. For about the same price you could also buy the Intex Aqua i7, which was launched earlier in September this year for Rs 21,900.
We have already reviewed the Aqua i7 (to read the same, click here here) which you can also refer for more information.
Design & Display:
Both the smartphones have a 5 inch display with full HD resolution. Also both of them have IPS displays for wide angle viewing and good colour reproduction.
The Intex Aqua i7 measures 71.9×142.7×7.8 mm against 71×128.3×8.6 mm of Micromax Canvas Turbo. This means the Aqua i7 is taller and thinner than the Micromax smartphone.
Here too the Intex Aqua i7 has an upper hand with its 32 GB internal memory while the Micromax Canvas Turbo has only 16 GB ROM of which 12.47 GB is available for users to store their content.
Neither Aqua i7 nor the Turbo has expandable storage slot. However, both of them come with 2 GB RAM.
Processor & OS:
Both the handsets come with Mediatek’s 1.5 GHz MT6589 Turbo quad core processor, Android 4.2 Jelly Bean operating system, and 2 GB RAM. So we do not expect them to vary much in terms of their processing capability.
Both Intex Aqua i7 and Micromax Canvas Turbo come with 2000 mAh Li-Ion battery. Intex claims that the Aqua i7 provides around 6-8 hours of talktime depending on usage – the same claim has been made by Micromax for Canvas Turbo.
Here too the handsets look like cloned copies of each other as both of them come with 13 megapixel rear camera and 5 megapixel front camera. So theoretically they should give identical results but since we have not reviewed the Canvas Turbo, we cannot say it for sure. However, to check the camera capability of Intex Aqua i7, click here (https://www.themobileindian.com/reviews/907_Review-Intex-Aqua-i7-smartphone-with-2-GB-RAM#Camera).
The Micromax Canvas Turbo comes with dual SIM, 3G connectivity (42 Mbps download & 11 Mbps upload), WiFi, micro USB, Bluetooth 4.0, and GPS.
On the other hand, the Aqua i7 has dual SIM (one micro and one mini), 3G, WiFi, micro USB, Bluetooth, and even HDMI.
If we go by the specification sheet, then the Micromax Canvas Turbo seems like a replica of the Intex Aqua i7, minus few features. Since both are available for around the same price, the Intex Aqua i7 seems a better choice.
