Meizu has recently announced Meizu Pro 6s in China for 2699 Yuan (approximately Rs 26,618) while the Asus had launched Zenfone 3 with 64GB in August in India this year for Rs 27,999. Here we have compared the 64GB version of Asus Zenfone 3 with Meizu Pro 6s.
Does the Meizu Pro 6s match up to the Asus Zenfone 3 in this price range? Read on to find out how they fare against each other.
Design and Display
Meizu Pro 6s features a 5.2-inch Super AMOLED full-HD (1080×1920 pixels) resolution display with a Pixel density of 423ppi and Gorilla Glass 3 protection. It also has the 3D Press functionality and the fingerprint sensor which is integrated into the home button of the device. One the other hand, Asus Zenfone 3 features a 5.5 inch IPS LCD full HD (1080×1920 pixels) resolution display. The Asus Zenfone 3 is all about glass both on the front and back with Corning Gorilla Glass 3 for the protection. The home button with a fingerprint scanner is at the back of the device.
The Zenfone 3 is quite compact and can be easily gripped. In comparison, Meizu Pro 6s has just been launched, and in pictures is looks attractive. However, if you are looking for big screen size smartphone, then Zenfone 3 will be a better option for you since nowadays 5.5-inch is considered as the ideal screen size of any smartphone.
Processor
Here the things get a little serious. Asus Zenfone 3 is powered by a 2GHz octa-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 625 64-bit processor, Adreno 503 GPU and 4GB RAM. Whereas Meizu Pro 6s sports a MediaTek Helio X25 deca-core processor with the 4 Cortex-A53 clocked at 1.4GHz, 4 Cortex-A53 cores clocked at 2.0GHz, and 2 Cortex-A72 cores clocked at 2.5GHz. It has Mali T880 530 GPU and 4GB of RAM. Here Meizu Pro 6s is certainly taking up all the attention here with a better processor. Both the devices run on Android 6.0 Marshmallow operating system but while Asus Zenfone 3 runs on ZenUI, Meizu Pro 6s runs on Flyme OS 5.5.
Camera
The Meizu Pro 6s features a 12-megapixel with optical image stabilisation, laser autofocus, phase-detection autofocus, f/2.0 aperture, and 10-LED dual-tone ring flash. The 5-megapixel front-facing camera comes with f/2.0 aperture.
The Zenfone 3 has a 16-megapixel rear camera and 8-megapixel front camera and it promises a lot on paper. We have already done the review of Zenfone 3 and found it to be delivering on camera part. The camera samples were equally good in low and bright lights. Other camera aspects like focusing, colour output etc are also good of Zenfone 3.
We hope that Meizu Pro 6s offers good camera output, if not better results than the Zenfone 3. If you want to go for a high-resolution camera, Zenfone 3 will be an ideal option for you.
Storage
When you have such big devices, media consumption only tends to increase. For this both the smartphones come with 64GB internal storage but if that’s not enough for you, there is a micro SD card slot in Zenfone 3 which can hold up to a 256 GB micro SD card. Unfortunately, there is no expandable storage in the Meizu Pro 6s which can be its major drawback. Both the phones have dual SIM capability but if you want that extra storage on the Zenfone 3, you will have to work with a single SIM because the smartphone has a hybrid SIM slot.
Battery and Connectivity
The battery is yet another department where both the phones look almost equal. The Meizu Pro 6s is backed up by a 3060mAh battery with Fast charging technology while Zenfone 3 has a 3000 mAh non-removable battery. Connectivity options are almost same on both the devices with WiFi 802.11 a/b/g/n/ac, Bluetooth, GPS, and USB Type-C. So not much thinking here. But the Zenfone 3 also has NFC which is not there in Meizu Pro 6s. We think Zenfone 3 is the winner of this round as it has an NFC feature also.
Wrapping Up
Now it’s time to decide which one is worth your hard earned money. This is quite a close contest. The two devices are greatly different in terms of design but in other areas they look quite the same.
While Meizu Pro 6s has a better processor, Zenfone 3 has that expandable storage. While Meizu comes with dual sim, Zenfone 3 comes with the hybrid sim. So a lot depends on your personal choice. But irrespective of your choice a great smartphone experience is quite certain.
