Lenovo is all set to launch its Vibe X2 octa core processor based smartphone in India. Actually, the company has sent invites to media organisation for an event scheduled for November 6 (Thursday) that simply says: “Save the Date”. However, the attachment carries the word “Vibe X2†indicating that the event is meant to launch the smartphone in India.
The Lenovo Vibe X2 was unveiled earlier in September this year. It is the first phone to feature Mediatek’s new 2 GHz MT6595m True8Core processor. Currently, the Vibe Z2 Pro is Lenovo’s flagship handset in India and is selling for close to Rs 33,000. Vibe Z, K900, Vibe X are the other mid-range phones being offered by Lenovo. As the name suggests, the Vibe X2 will succeed the Vibe X which comes with 1.5 GHz quad core processor and is retailing for around Rs 19,000.
The new Lenovo Vibe X2 said to come with “multi layered design” (most likely a metal body); we will have to though wait for the launch to know more about its design. The X2 is just 120 grams in weight and is 7.3 mm thick. Despite being so light, the phone has a 5 inch display with full HD resolution and it has a 2300 mAh Li-Po non-removable battery. This battery claims to offer about 17 hours of 2G or 19 hours of 3G talktime which is definitely appreciable.
The Lenovo Vibe X2 runs on Android KitKat operating system and like other Lenovo smartphones, it should have a modified interface. The highlight of the phone is its 2 GHz Mediatek MT6595m True8Core processor which is being assisted by PowerVR G600 GPU and 2 GB RAM. The handset has huge 32 GB internal storage but it has no expandable storage slot.
The Vibe X2 has 13 Megapixel rear camera and a 5 megapixel front camera. It comes with dual SIM with dual standby. It is also 4G compatible (perhaps with Indian 4G networks as well). Besides, the Lenovo Vibe X2 has Bluetooth 4.0, dual Band WiFi, and Micro USB 2.0 port.
Currently, Vibe Z2 Pro is Lenovo’s flagship handset, priced at Rs 32,999. The new Vibe X2 does not have the muscle to take on the Z2 Pro so most like the new handset will be launched at around or below Rs 25,000. Anyway, the launch event is just few days far so keep checking The Mobile Indian.
