HP has slashed the price of Slate 6 VoiceTab to Rs 19,990, which was launched in India earlier in February this year for Rs 22,990. Meanwhile, Samsung has also reduced the price of its Galaxy S4 and Galaxy S4 Mini to Rs 31,814 and Rs 19,278 respectively.
Interestingly, many retailers are offering Galaxy S4 for less than Rs 28,500. While the S4 Mini and HP Slate 6 are available for about Rs 17,500 and around Rs 18,000 respectively.
The HP Slate 6 VoiceTab comes with a 6 inch HD IPS display, dual SIM, Android 4.2.2 Jelly Bean operating system, 16 GB internal storage, 32 GB expandable storage slot, and 1 GB DDR2 RAM. This 3G device (which should be termed as phablet and not tablet as referred by the company) comes with WiFi and Bluetooth 3.0 as well. It has a micro USB 2.0 port as well. The HP Slate 6 VoiceTab has a 1.2 GHz Marvell PXA1088 quad core processor, a 5 Megapixel auto focus rear camera, and a 2 megapixel front camera. It weighs 160 grams.
At this price, the HP Slate 6 has definitely spiced up things a bit in the sub-Rs 20,000 Android segment but it has lot of good opponents to take care of. As we cited in our Top 5 Android Smartphones under Rs 20,000, smartphones like Gionee Elife E7 Mini, Micromax Canvas Knight, Intex Aqua Octa, Xolo Q3000 etc too look quite attractive.
