We already know that Google is working on three Pixel smartphones codenamed as Muskie, Walleye and Taimen. Though Muskie and Walleye will be the successor of the Pixel and Pixel XL, information about the third Pixel smartphone was grim till now. But recently the device was spotted on the popular benchmarking site, Geekbench, revealing some key specifications of Taimen.
The listing reveals a model name as Taimen, which further strengthens the rumour about the third Pixel phone, which is reported to feature a much larger display than the other two upcoming Pixel smartphones. The listing further reveals that the device comes loaded with an octa-core Qualcomm CPU clocked at 1.90GHz, which could be none other than Qualcomm Snapdragon 835 processor.
Other than this, the smartphone runs on the yet-to-be-announced Android O operating system and will pack a 4GB of RAM. Further, the leak shows 1804 score in the single-score test, while the multi-core test resulted in a score of 6248. To give a better perspective, Samsung Galaxy S8 scored 1945 score in the single-core test, while Galaxy S8+ got a 1938 score. The multi-core test for Galaxy S8 and Galaxy S8+ resulted in a score of 6175 and 6338 respectively.
However, the listing does not reveal anything else about the upcoming device, but recent rumours indicate that Pixel 2 series will come loaded with an OLED panel. As per a report, the company is planning to invest about $900 million for procuring flexible OLED displays from LG Display. However, if this comes out to be true, Google will not be able to extract enough OLED panels any time before the third quarter.
