For many years there have been reports about Samsung experimenting with a smartphone with a foldable screen. Now it seems that the South Korean handset maker has the phone ready to launch.
A website (MobielKopen) claimed to have accidentally spotted a page in Samsung’s South Korean website where a smartphone called Samsung Galaxy X was listed. For long, this Galaxy X was expected to be the phone with the foldable screen.
Samsung seems to have pulled that page soon after but the listing itself has indicated that the phone is all ready and may be launched soon.
However, Samsung may not launch the device sooner as expected since it could harm sales of its recently launched devices- the S8 and Note 8.
Nothing is known about the smartphone but it might have a big tablet like screen which could be folded in the middle for easy usage.
As per the listing, the phone has model number SM-G888N0.
Samsung first showcased a flexible display back in 2013.
Last year too a report claimed that Samsung is working on two different types of foldable smartphones, one of which was expected this year.
