Another Moto E rival: Micromax brings Canvas Engage with Android KitKat for Rs 6,199

Just last week Micromax had announced the Canvas Unite 2 with Android KitKat for Rs 6,999.

Micromax has announced yet another KitKat operating system based smartphone, named as Canvas Engage. Just last week Micromax had announced the Canvas Unite 2 with Android KitKat for Rs 6,999. The new Micromax Canvas A091 Engage is now available for Rs 6,199 from eBay India.

As per the listing, the Micromax Canvas Engage comes with a 4 inch display, Android KitKat 4.4.2 operating system, and a 1.2 Ghz quad core processor. It has only 512 RAM though. For storage, this phone offers 4 ROM and a 32 GB micro card slot. Of the 4 GB ROM, 1.67 GB is meant for users while 0.89 GB is for apps.

The Canvas Engage comes armed with a 5 rear camera and a 0.3 megapixel front camera. There is a 1500 battery in the Canvas Engage that claims to offer 5.5 hours of talktime and 200 hours of standby. Besides, this dual SIM smartphone has WiFi, 4.0, micro USB port, a 3.5 mm jack, GPS and FM radio. It also offers connectivity; perhaps only one of the SIM slot supports 3G while the other is meant for 2G which is the norm of the day.
Canvas Engage
Needless to say, Micromax has launched this handset to compete with the Moto E which has already been branded by many as the best handset in the affordable Android segment. The Motorola Moto E has a 4.3-inch touchscreen display with 540×960 pixels resolution. This IPS display has coating and is said to have low glare. Moto E is armed with a dual core 1.2 Ghz Snapdragon 200 processor, 1 GB RAM, Android 4.4.2 KitKat OS, 4 GB ROM, and 32 GB micro SD card slot.

Besides, Moto E has dual SIM, WiFi, micro USB port, and Bluetooth 4.0. For navigation, it has GPS, GLONASS, and BeiDou. It has FM radio as well. The Motorola Moto E has a 5 megapixel rear camera with Auto HDR, 4x digital zoom, burst mode, and panorama features. Moto E has no front camera though. It has a 1960 mAh battery that claims to offer up to 24 hours of talktime. It too has a curved back panel, measuring 12.3 mm at the thickest point while 6.2 mm at the thinnest part. It weighs 142 grams.

Note that last week Micromax had announced the Canvas Unite 2 with Android KitKat operating system. The Unite 2 has a 1.3 GHz quad core processor, a 4.7-inch IPS display with a resolution of 800×480 pixels, a 2000 mAh battery, a 5 megapixel rear camera, an flash, and a 2 megapixel front camera. The Unite 2 also said to have 21 language support.

Besides, Unite 2 has 32 GB micro SD card slot, GPS, Bluetooth v4.0 and WiFi. Micromax has also loaded the phone with several applications including Mad that lets users watch ads, Getit, Kingsoft Office, Opera Mini Browser, etc.
