Android Nougat reportedly rolled out for Samsung Galaxy J5 Prime in India

The Samsung Galaxy J5 Prime was originally launched with Android 6.0 Marshmallow operating system.

Samsung has now rolled out the Nougat 7.0 update for its Galaxy J5 Prime smartphone in India, as per a report of SamMobile. The Samsung Galaxy J5 Prime was originally launched with 6.0 Marshmallow operating system with 16GB internal storage. Later a 32GB variant was also launched earlier this year.

The software firmware version for this update is G570FXXU1BQ16 for the Samsung Galaxy J5 Prime with a file size of around 1GB. Do keep in mind that before you go for the downloading and installing the update, check the battery and storage of your smartphone. It should have at least 50 percent of charge and 2GB of free space is available. Since the update is being rolled out via over-the-air (OTA), it may take some time before it comes to your device. One can also manually check for the update by going to Settings ->About Phone -> Software Update.

Android Nougat brings in a bunch of new features including split-screen multitasking, more customisable quick settings, improved Google keyboard, enhanced notifications, and recent applications window. Further, the latest Android OS version also brings in ‘Double Tap’ on the Recent button to switch between the two most recent apps which come in very handy at times. For extended battery life, Android Nougat comes with ‘Doze on the go’ which will get activated even if your Nougat running device is in your pocket.

For the specs, Samsung Galaxy J5 Prime comes with a full metal body and a 5-inch (720p) display, It is powered by a Exynos quad-core processor, which is paired with 2GB RAM. The Galaxy J5 Prime comes with 16GB/32GB of internal memory, which can be further expandable up to 256GB via a micro SD card. The smartphone now runs on Android 7.0 Nougat operating system and is backed by a 2,400 battery.

On the camera front, Galaxy J5 Prime flaunts a 13-megapixel rear camera with f/1.9 and an LED flash, and a 5-megapixel front-facing camera with f/2.2 aperture for selfies and video chats. The smartphone also has a fingerprint sensor that is integrated into its home button. Besides, the smartphone offers dual-SIM slots, with VoLTE support, WiFi, Bluetooth, GPS, and a port.
