Samsung Galaxy On5 2017 now gets TENAA certification

The Samsung Galaxy On5 2017 will be the successor of last year's Galaxy On5 2016 which was launched in India last year as Samsung Galaxy J5 Prime.

After receiving WiFi certification from the WiFi Alliance (WFA) recently, the Samsung Galaxy On5 2017 has now been spotted on the Chinese certification website, TENAA. The device has been spotted with the same model number as SM-G5528 which appeared in WiFi listing. The Samsung Galaxy On5 2017 will be the successor of last year’s Galaxy On5 2016 which was launched in India last year as Samsung Galaxy J5 Prime.

As per the TENAA listing, the Samsung Galaxy On5 2017 has a 5.0 inch display with 720×1280 pixels resolution and is powered by a 1.4 GHz quad-core processor. It comes with 2GB RAM with 16GB/32GB/64GB of internal storage, 128GB expandable memory, a 13-megapixel rear camera with LED flash, a 5-megapixel front camera and a 2,600 battery. The front home button might be fingerprint sensor integrated though it is not mentioned on TENAA listing.

The phone runs on 6.0.1 Marshmallow operating system with Gionee’s Amigo UI on top of it and the images reveal that it will come in Gold colour option. Connectivity options of the device include dual SIM, 4G-LTE with VoLTE, 4.0, WiFi, GPS/A-GPS and a 2.0 port. The phone is 142.8 mm tall, 69.5 mm wide and 8.1 mm thin and it weighs 143 grams, according to the TENAA listing. The device will also have Gravity sensor and distance sensor as per the listing.

There is no information about the price and the official launch of the device is expected soon as it has now been spotted on TENAA. So, stay tuned with us for more details.

As per the earlier certification, the Samsung Galaxy On5 2017 will support single-band Wi-Fi a/b/g/n (2.4GHz) and Wi-Fi Direct connectivity features. The listing did not show any specifications except that the device will be powered by Android operating system. However, the version of Android was also not revealed in the listing.

The Galaxy On5 2016 was launched in India last year as Samsung Galaxy J5 Prime along with J7 Prime. To recall, Samsung Galaxy J5 Prime comes with a full metal body and a 5-inch HD (720p) display, It is powered by an Exynos quad-core processor, which is paired with 2GB RAM. The Galaxy J5 Prime comes with 16GB of internal memory, which can be further expandable up to 256GB via a micro card. The smartphone runs on Android 6.0 Marshmallow operating system and is backed by a 2,400 mAh battery.

On the camera front, Galaxy J5 Prime flaunts a 13-megapixel rear camera with f/1.9 and a LED flash, and a 5-megapixel front-facing camera with f/2.2 aperture for selfies and video chats. The smartphone also has a fingerprint sensor that is integrated into its home button. Besides, the smartphone offers dual-SIM slots, with VoLTE support, WiFi, Bluetooth, GPS, and a micro USB port.

Both Samsung J7 Prime and J5 Prime have S Power planning and S Secure features. The S Power planning mode extends battery life and the S Secure feature allow users to hide and lock applications, secure WiFi and create a separate Secure folder for images and applications.
