HTC announces Desire 650 with 5 inch display and 13MP camera

The smartphone runs on Android 6.0 Marshmallow operating system.

HTC has scheduled an event for tomorrow in which it is expected to unveil its new U series of smartphones which includes HTC U Play and HTC U Ultra and HTC X10 smartphone. Now ahead of that, HTC has announced its Desire series smartphone which is named as Desire 650 in Europe. The smartphone is set to hit European shores and international markets in February. However, pricing of the Desire 650 for European market has not been revealed by the company.

HTC had earlier unveiled the Desire 650 in its home country, Taiwan for around $170 which is approximately Rs 11,640 last year in two colour options – white and dark blue.

The HTC Desire 650 comes with a 5 inch (720 x 1280 pixels) display with Gorilla Glass protection and is powered by a quad-Core Qualcomm Snapdragon processor of the unknown chipset, along with Adreno 430 GPU. The Desire 650 comes with 2GB of RAM, and 16GB internal storage, which can be further expandable to 2TB with a microSD card. The smartphone runs on 6.0 Marshmallow operating system which is wrapped under HTC Sense 8 UI. Other features of the smartphone include built-in for use in low-light environments and HTC’s theming software that allows the user to quickly change the theme and layout of the smartphone.

The Desire 650 has a fingerprint scanner on the home key and dual speaker with HTC’s own Boom Sound technology at the front side and has a 2200 battery. On the camera front, the smartphone offers 13-megapixel shooter with LED flash and f/2.2 on its back. On its front, it has a 5-megapixel front-facing camera for selfies and video chats with aperture f/2.8 and wide angle lens. Further, the smartphone offers LTE, WiFi, 4,1, GPS/AGPS/ GLONASS, NFC and 2.0. The handset measures 146.9 x 70.9 x 8.4 mm and weighs 140 grams.
