In recent times, the affordable smartphone segment has seen a lot of activity. Two noted devices which were launched in this segment include the Lava V5 and the LeEco Le 1s. The Lava V5 is priced at Rs 11,499 while the LeEco Le 1s costs Rs 10,999.
Here we have compared the phones on the basis of their specification.
Design
The Le 1s despite its affordable price tag, comes with an all-metal unibody, along with mirror fingerprint sensor. Infact it looks much like the new gen iPhones. Due to the metal body, the phone feels quite tough but is a bit slippery. The phone feels quite compact and can easily be operated by one hand by most Indian users. The mirror finished fingerprint sensor in the back apart from unlocking the smartphone, also helps in taking pictures. It has two SIM card slot but it does not offer expandable storage facility. Besides, the phone has a microphone for noise cancellation, an infrared port that allows it to be used as a remote controller, a USB Type C port and a 3.5 mm jack. The LeEco Le 1s measures 151.1 x 74.2 x 7.5 mm and weighs 169 grams.
The Lava V5 has a metal rim and a plastic back cover that is removable. Owing to its plastic back panel, it should be easier to grip but it won’t look as classy as that of Le 1s. So in terms of looks only, our vote will go for Le 1s but note that the V5 has two dedicated SIM slots as well as a micro SD card slot.
Display
The Lava V5 has a 5.5 inch display that has high definition Resolution and Corning Gorilla Glass 3. The LeEco Le 1s also has a 5.5 inch display but it has full HD resolution as well as Corning Gorilla Glass 3 protection.
