Xolo, a part of Lava International, came into being in 2012. The first Xolo branded smartphone was Xolo X900. It was not merely a product coming out from Lava International’s new brand; instead it was Intel’s entry (or should we say re-entry) into the smartphone segment. Intel used to have a processor for PDAs (personal digital assistant) way back in 1996.
Since then Xolo has come a long way and has launched seven smartphones, the latest being the Xolo X1000. Here is a look at all the devices launched under the Xolo brand name so far and their best price.
Xolo X1000 (Rs 19,999)
Xolo yesterday announced its flagship smartphone Xolo X1000. It is powered by an Intel Atom processor Z2480 with Intel’s hyper-threading technology. The smartphone is also equipped with a 400 MHz graphics processing unit (GPU) to enable full 1080p HD video encoding and playback. It is powered by Android ICS operation system.
Xolo X1000 comes with a 4.7 inch Sharp HD2.5 D edge curved glass display. The use of a single glass that integrates seamlessly with the unibody design nullifies any possible refraction and adds to the flawless viewing experience. Resolution is 312 pixel per inch (ppi).
The device has an 8 megapixel rear camera with imaging capabilities like a burst mode, which operates at 15 frames per second (fps) and a 1.3 megapixel front camera. On the memory front it has 8 GB internal storage and 1 GB RAM, with a microSD card that can read 32 GB of memory. Xolo X1000 has a 1900 mAh battery.
Xolo A1000 (Rs 12,990)
Xolo A1000, a smartphone with a 5 inch display, has a one glass solution (OGS) that makes it quite sleek-just 8.8 mm thick. In designing the smartphone Xolo has removed the extra flab on the border of the phone while retaining the display area to give it a slim fit look.
Xolo A1000 is powered by a 2100 mAh battery and comes with an 8 megapixel camera with LED flash at the back and VGA in the front. The phone is powered by a 1 GHz dual core MediaTek MT6577 processor and has a 1280 x 720 pixel resolution HD screen. Though it’s not an HD display like the one in Micromax Canvas HD A116, due to the small screen size, Xolo Q800 has a decent 245 ppi pixel density compared to 293 ppi of the Micromax handset.
Xolo Q800 comes with a 1.2 GHz quad core MediaTek chipset and 1 GB RAM. The Q800 has a 4 GB ROM. It has an 8 megapixel autofocus camera with backside illumination CMOS sensor for better low light photography. It also has a 1.2 megapixel camera in the front.
Besides, the Xolo Q800 has 3G (up to 21 Mbps), WiFI, Bluetooth, A-GPS, proximity sensor and accelerometer. It has a 2100 mAh battery with a claimed 16 hours of talktime.
