Qualcomm announced its latest mid-range processor, the Snapdragon 675 during its 4G/5G Summit 2018. Now, Xiaomi has confirmed that it will launch a new smartphone powered by Qualcomm’s latest Chipset pretty soon.
Manu Kumar Jain, Xiaomi’s Global Vice President and MD India, during the conference has confirmed that will launch a new smartphone that will be powered by Qualcomm Snapdragon 675 chipset. He said that the phone will hit the shelves next year, though he has not given any particular timeline. Qualcomm has revealed that the latest chipset will be available in Q1 of 2019. So, one could expect the phone to be announced during Q1 or Q2 of 2019.
To recall, the latest chipset from Qualcomm comes loaded with a host of interesting features. The Processor is equipped with a Hexagon DSP with multi-core AI Engine that gives a 50 per cent boost to AI applications. The new chipset is based on the 11nm process and it comes loaded with Kryo 460 CPUs. There are 2 Cortex-A76 performance cores clocked at 2.0GHz and six Cortex-A55 cores clocked at 1.7GHz. The new SoC comes with Adreno 612 GPU that comes with improved processing and efficiency.
The new processor is equipped with Qualcomm Spectra 250L ISP, engineered to capture detail at up to 25 megapixels and snapshots at 48 megapixels. The image processor will also relay support for bokeh portrait shots, 5X Optical Zoom and slow-mo video recording at 480 fps.
