Xiaomi sold 1 million Redmi 5A handsets in 30 days

The smartphone features 5-inch HD display with 720 x 1280 pixels resolution and a pixel density of 296ppi and is powered by a 1.4GHz Snapdragon 425 quad-core processor with Adreno 308 GPU.

Xiaomi’s VP, Manu Kumar Jain has announced that it has sold over 1 million (10 lakh) handsets of the Xiaomi Redmi 5A in India within the first month of its launch. Xiaomi has sold 1 million Redmi 5A smartphones in 30 days. The smartphone was launched in India in November end last year and went on sale on 7 December on Mi.com and Flipkart via flash sales.

Manu Kumar Jain has revealed this information on his official Twitter handle. His tweet reads “Thrilled to announce that we’ve sold 1+ Mn #Redmi5A in less than a month! Thank you, Mi Fans for showering us with your incredible love & support! RT and 5 lucky winners will win Mi HRX”.

The smartphone comes in two variants – 2GB RAM with 16GB internal storage priced at Rs 5,999 and 3GB RAM with 32GB internal storage priced at Rs 6,999. Xiaomi is offering a discount to first 5 million customers of Rs 1,000, which brings down the cost of 2GB RAM variant to Rs 4,999. The smartphone comes in Gold, Rose Gold and Dark Grey colours.

As far as specifications of Redmi 5A are concerned, it features 5-inch display with 720 x 1280 pixels resolution and a pixel density of 296ppi and is powered by a 1.4GHz Snapdragon 425 quad-core processor with Adreno 308 GPU. It comes with 2GB/3GB of RAM and 16GB/32GB of internal storage, and expandable storage up to 128GB via microSD. The Redmi 5A gets its strength from decent 3,000 mAh battery offering 8 days of standby time and runs on Nougat operating system wrapped under MIUI 9.

On the camera front, the Redmi 5A sports a 13-megapixel rear camera with PDAF, Flash, f/2.2 aperture, burst mode, panorama mode, HDR mode, and more. on its back, and a 5-megapixel front-facing camera for selfies with f/2.0 lens. Besides the smartphone offers dual SIM, with VoLTE, Wi-Fi (802.11 b/g/n), 4.1, GPS, and a port. The handset measures 140 x 70.1 mm x 8.35 mm and weighs 137g.
