Xiaomi Redmi 5A is now available at its original price of Rs 5,999

Initially, Xiaomi offered a discount to first 5 million customers of Rs 1,000 for Xiaomi Redmi 5A, to bring down the cost of 2GB RAM variant to Rs 4,999.

Chinese handset manufacturer, Xiaomi has announced that its Desh ka smartphone – Redmi 5A will now be available for its original starting price of Rs 5,999 in India.The company launched Redmi 5A in India in November last year. The smartphone was announced in two variants – 2GB RAM with 16GB internal storage priced at Rs 5,999 and 3GB RAM with 32GB internal storage priced at Rs 6,999. Initially, the brand offered a discount to first 5 million customers of Rs 1,000, to bring down the cost of 2GB RAM variant to Rs 4,999.

Xiaomi has confirmed the development on its official Twitter handle. The tweet reads “Redmi 5A will now be available at its original price of ₹5,999 on https://mi.com & @Flipkart. #DeshKaSmartphone”. The Xiaomi Redmi 5A is exclusively available on Flipkart, company’s official website and Mi Homes. It comes in Gold, Rose Gold and Dark Grey colours.

The Xiaomi Redmi 5A features 5-inch HD display with 720 x 1280 pixels resolution and a pixel density of 296ppi and is powered by a 1.4GHz Snapdragon 425 quad-core processor with Adreno 308 GPU. It comes with 2GB/3GB of RAM and 16GB/32GB of internal storage, and expandable storage up to 128GB via microSD. The Redmi 5A gets its strength from decent 3,000 mAh battery offering 8 days of standby time and runs on Nougat operating system wrapped under MIUI 9.

On the camera front, the Redmi 5A sports a 13-megapixel rear camera with PDAF, Flash, f/2.2 aperture, burst mode, panorama mode, HDR mode, and more. on its back, and a 5-megapixel front-facing camera for selfies with f/2.0 lens. Besides the smartphone offers dual SIM, with VoLTE, Wi-Fi (802.11 b/g/n), 4.1, GPS, and a port. The handset measures 140 x 70.1 mm x 8.35 mm and weighs 137g.
