Xiaomi seems to be working on a smaller and budget variant of Xioami Mi Mix smartphone which was launched in China last year. The lighter version is dubbed as Mi Mix Lite and as per reports, the Mi Mix Lite will be powered by Xiaomi’s recently launched Surge S1 chipset.
As per the reports from China, the Xiaomi Mi Mix Lite will come in two variants. The 2GB RAM with 16GB internal storage is rumoured to be priced at 999 Yuan which is approximately Rs 9,412 while the 3GB RAM with 64GB internal storage is rumoured to be priced at 1499 Yuan which is approximately Rs 14,123. The price is no doubt very low as compared to the price of existing Mi Mix which is 3,999 Yuan which is approximately Rs 32,977 for 2GB RAM with 128GB internal storage. The 6GB variant with 256GB internal storage however, cost you 3999 Yuan or approximately Rs 37,679. The Xiaomi Mi Mix Lite is also rumoured to come with a high screen-to-body ratio.
Recently, the successor to the Mi Mix also surfaced online which revealed a bunch of interesting features. The Xiaomi Mi Mix 2 is expected to come with a curved AMOLED display that offers a screen-to-body ratio of 93% of the device. The existing Mi Mix comes with an LCD display covering 91.3% of the front panel. It means that the Mi Mix 2 bezels will be thinner than Mi Mix. Moreover, Mi Mix 2 will take the ceramic design from its predecessor and the in-display fingerprint scanner from the recently launched Mi 5c. In other words, the smartphone has its fingerprint sensor placed underneath the display panel.
For the design, Mi Mix II will be designed by the same French designer Philippe Starck who designed its predecessor Mi MIX. The company is aiming at a smartphone whose screen can cover the front panel of the phone. Also, the smartphone will not be having any physical buttons. The Mi MIX II will be the first Chinese phone to not have a physical button if this comes into reality. As per rumours, the Xiaomi Mi Mix 2 will feature 6.2-inch QHD display with an aspect ratio of 18:9 as in the LG G6. Also, the device is expected to come with Qualcomm Snapdragon 835 SoC and will be IP68 water resistant besides the in-display fingerprint sensor technology.
The 6GB variant of existing Xiaomi Mi Mix boasts a ceramic body and comes with a 6.4-inch (2040 x 1080) bezel-less display with a 91.3 percent screen to body ratio. Moreover, it comes with an 18k carat gold finish on the camera lens and a fingerprint sensor on the back. On the inside, It is powered by 2.35 GHz quad-core Snapdragon 821 64-bit processor along with Adreno 530 GPU. The dual SIM smartphone runs on Android 6.0 Marshmallow operating with MIUI 8 and has a 4400 mAh battery with Quick Charge 3.0 technology. It offers a 16-megapixel autofocus rear camera with dual tone LED flash, PDAF, f/2.0 aperture, 4K video recording and a 5-megapixel front camera.
