Xiaomi Mi 6 which was earlier expected to launch in February next year is now rumoured to launch not until April 2017. The reason for this delay is tipped to attributed to Xiaomi’s decision to include Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 835 Chipset which as per the rumours won’t be ready until February. On the other hand, some rumours suggests that the Chinese handset manufacturer might unveil the device at MWC 2017.
As of now, the Snapdragon 835 processor is expected to come in a couple of flagship smartphones to be launched in 2017, one of the being the Samsung Galaxy S8.
As per the reports, Xiaomi Mi 6 is expected to come with 6GB RAM and feature USB Type C support. It will reportedly run on Android 7.0 or 7.1 Nougat update with MIUI 9 OS on top of it. For the photography, Xiaomi Mi 6 is touted to come with dual camera setup and support Xiaomi Fast charge, claims rumours. This in contrary to previous leaked renders of the device which interestingly revealed a single camera setup which is why we advise our readers to take this information with a pinch of salt as it is not yet confirmed from a reliable source.
Going back, Xiaomi launched the Mi5 in India in April 2016 piced at Rs 24,999 for 3GB RAM with 32GB inbuilt storage. Unfortunately, the company failed to launch the 4GB + 64GB internal storage variant. Nevertheless, the Xiaomi Mi 5 features a 5.15 inch Full HD display and is powered by a Snapdragon 820 processor, along with Adreno 530 GPU, dual SIM functionality, a fingerprint scanner and Android Marshmallow operating system. The phone has a 16 megapixel rear camera which boasts a Sony IMX298 sensor, 6P lens, phase detection auto focus feature, LED flash light support, optical image stabilization and sapphire glass protection for lens. The rear camera can also record 4K videos whereas for selfies, the Mi 5 offers a 4 megapixel front camera.
The Xiaomi Mi 5 is fuelled by a 3000 mAh battery and comes with Qualcomm’s Quick Charge 3.0 technology. Other than that, the Mi 5 offers 4G- VoLTE, WiFi (a/b/g/n/ac), Bluetooth 4.2, NFC, USB Type-C port as connecitivty options and measures at 144.5×69.2×7.25mm and weighs 129 grams.
